The 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme participated in the 10th Ghana CEO Summit & Expo in Accra, where business leaders, investors, policymakers, and development institutions gathered to discuss Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.

Delivering the keynote address, the Presidential Adviser on the 24-Hour Economy outlined the programme’s focus on productivity, industrialisation, infrastructure, exports, and private-sector-led implementation.

The summit also provided an opportunity for the Secretariat to engage stakeholders on strategic projects, partnerships, and investment opportunities under the 24-Hour Economy framework.

Speaking at the launch of the petroleum downstream pilot, the Presidential Adviser on the 24-Hour Economy outlined the Secretariat’s role in coordinating the systems required to support production, logistics, manufacturing, and economic activity across sectors.

The address positioned the downstream sector as one of the programme’s earliest and most important implementation areas.

The 24-Hour Economy Programme has entered operational implementation within the petroleum downstream sector through a six-month pilot led by the Petroleum Authority
The pilot covers 268 retail outlets, eight depots, and two refineries across four regions and forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the systems that support production, logistics, manufacturing, agro-processing, and exports.

Implementation will be jointly coordinated by the NPA and the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat.

At SHEA 2026: Beyond Borders, stakeholders from across Africa’s shea industry gathered in Accra to discuss value addition, regional coordination, women’s livelihoods, and the future of the sector.

Speaking during the Business Day opening, the Presidential Adviser to the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme, Goosie Tanoh, emphasised the need for stronger regional collaboration, expanded processing capacity, and systems that allow more value from the industry to remain within African economies.

The address also linked the future of the shea industry to infrastructure, logistics, financing, industrial parks, and export development under the 24-Hour Economy Programme.

The focus was on what is holding cooperatives back:
outdated laws, limited access to finance, and capacity gaps across the sector.

The conversations also highlighted what is already working. Cooperatives supporting farmers, mobilising savings, and building local economic activity.

Next phase: follow-up work across legal reform, financing, capacity, and inclusion.
