At Agona Nyakrom, a landlady, Madam Charlotte has died following an alleged assault by the grandson of a tenant who defecated in front of her room.

Reports suggest the incident happened when Madam Charlotte confronted the tenant for defecating into a polythene bag and chose to leave it at her doorstep.

The tenant, however, claimed she could not reach the public toilet in time because she had a stomach upset.

While the initial disagreement appeared to have settled following a heated argument, the tenant later accused Madam Charlotte of gossiping about the incident to others.

The tenant, in response, summoned her grandson, Paa Kwesi who upon arrival allegedly attacked the landlady using a belt to assault her.

The landlady's health is said to have declined rapidly and was rushed to the Nyakrom Health Centre due to complications from high blood pressure. She was subsequently referred to another hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Couldn't the tenant register her displeasure over the absence of a facility in the house in a better way?

Sometimes, you may have genuine reasons to take an action, but it can also land you into trouble.

When they met, an argument about a local football team at Osamkrom broke out between them about whether it is the founder who still manages the team.

While the deceased argued the founder is still at the helm of affairs, Ato said it was untrue.

In the heat of the argument, Pepper Soup decided to leave and while he turned his back, Ato is said to have struck him with a log leading to his death.

Police have since arrested Ato's mother and some relatives as he remains at large.

Why has it become a practice of arresting parents and family members when perpetrators or suspects are at large?

"I am a highly motivated Ghanaian citizen, 26 years and 10 months old, holding a Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Sociology from the University of Ghana. I possess a deep commitment to serving our nation through the Ghana Armed Forces.I recently applied for officer enlistment and was regrettably disqualified solely based on my age. The official cut-off age for degree holders applying for officer cadet training was recently reduced to 26 years.Historically, the required age limit for graduate applicants was 30 years. This abrupt and significant reduction has created a substantial barrier for a large number of prospective candidates who have followed the standard academic and National Service paths. This new, restrictive age ceiling disproportionately affects graduates who completed their National Service this year or in the immediate past. By the time many young Ghanaians complete their four-year degree and mandatory one-year National Service, they are often on the verge of turning 27 or slightly older. The previous age limit of 30 was realistic and accommodating of this timeline. In my specific case, being disqualified at 26 years and 10 months, despite meeting all other requirements and having a strong desire to serve, is deeply disheartening and effectively shuts the door on my aspirations.I respectfully but urgently appeal to the highest authorities to review and reconsider this new policy. I propose that the age limit for degree holders seeking officer enlistment be revised and increased to at least 28 years.A revised limit of 28 years would offer a fair and reasonable window of opportunity for recent graduates to transition from National Service into the military, ensuring the GAF continues to attract a broad pool of highly educated and dedicated individuals.I believe that amending this age requirement will demonstrate the government's commitment to providing equitable opportunities for all qualified young Ghanaians who wish to dedicate their lives to national security.I thank you for your time and earnest consideration of this critical matter. I look forward to a positive and favorable outcome that allows dedicated citizens like myself to fulfill our patriotic duty."
