The National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO - Greater Accra, has partnered with Zoomlion Ghana Limited to launch the โNO DO, NO DOโ Campaign, a 12-week public education and community engagement initiative focused on sanitation, behavioural change, and flood prevention.
The campaign comes at a critical time when blocked drains, improper waste disposal, and the misuse of waterways continue to worsen flooding in many communities, especially during the rainy season.
At the launch, the NADMO Regional Director, Hon. Dennis Adjannor Nartey, called for stronger collaboration among institutions, communities, and individuals in addressing flood-related risks. He stressed that while rainfall may be natural, the impact of flooding is often made worse by human activities.
Also speaking at the event, Ms. Emma Adwoa Appiah Osei-Duah of Zoomlion Ghana Limited reminded the public of the simple but important message of the campaign: โDonโt dump. Donโt block. Let water flow.โ
As part of the campaign, NADMO and Zoomlion will intensify public sensitisation, community engagement, drain desilting activities, and early warning education to help reduce flooding and protect lives and property.
NADMO urges the public to support this initiative by keeping our drains clear, disposing of waste responsibly, and avoiding activities that obstruct the free flow of water.
NO DO, NO DO
Prevention begins with all of us.
