The delegation from the Ghana International Trade Commission (GITC), led by its Executive Secretary, Mrs. Mavis Adjei-Kwaa, paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Mission of Ghana to the WTO in Geneva, where they were warmly received by H.E. Emmanuel Antwi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Ghana to the WTO.
The delegation included officials from the Ghana Free Zones Authority, led by Deputy CEO Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Discussions focused on the delegationโs participation in the WTO Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures meetings, the importance of trade remedies in protecting domestic industries, and Ghanaโs commitment to transparency and compliance with WTO rules. The meeting also highlighted the critical role of the Ghana Free Zones Authority in promoting export-led industrialization, attracting investment, and enhancing Ghanaโs competitiveness in global trade.
The Ambassador reaffirmed the Missionโs readiness to continue supporting key national institutions through advocacy, partnerships, and capacity-building initiatives.
