ANLOGA MUNICIPAL LIBRARY SNAPSHOT 22/07/2026

"Books are the soul of a library. They hold human knowledge and inspire dreams" - by Ray Bradbury; that is why book donations to the libraries are like giving a 'rebirth' to them.

On Wednesday, 1st July, 2026, a group of chiefs and queen mothers (mamawo) led by Togbi Zewu IV, dufia of Anloga were at the Anloga library to donate a collection of Encyclopaedia Britannica:
Micropaedia - 10
Macropaedia - 20
Propaedia - 1
Science Year Books - 8
Children Encyclopedia - 20
Did you know? - 1
Bringing the total number of books donated to 60. The district director of education, Mr. Eric Gamadeku received the donated books for the library. This donation was covered by Hogbe radio as the CEO of Hogbe radio, Mr. Silas Silas Kwame Aidam joined the chiefs for the presentation.

This is recorded as another kind gesture from Mr Solomon Kobla & Mrs Edith Ama Awadzi (Nee Agbetorwoka) both of Anloga on behalf of Anloga Development Association (ADA-UK).

The librarian in charge of the library NewCoffie Felix Dogbey expressed so much appreciation to the donors, took them on a tour of the facility, briefed them on the Anlo Literary Project literacy prospects and requested for support with children books.

On Tuesday, 7th June, 2026 the Anloga Municipal Library literacy team was at the ZICO Basic School to form a Creative Writers' Club.

The teacher coordinator sir Hope showed so much commitment to the formation of the club and we had a fruitful interaction with the members.

Prefects were appointed for the club to mobilize, monitor and head the club in the absence of the teacher coordinator.

Anloga Municipal Library Snapshot 02/07/2026

On Thursday, 2nd July, 2026 the Anloga Municipal Library visited the Dornorgbor E.P. Basic School Creative Writers' Club members.

Every single member took turns to read the story.

The engagement focused on reading, comprehension, vocabulary development, literary discussions and answering comprehension questions based on the narrative, the members were drilled in the keywords and assigned the task of finding the meaning of each word.

The club secretary took notes of the key words as a way of keeping record.

Sir Selorm, the literacy coordinator in the school got support from the librarian in this session, and is very much appreciated for the love shown.

On Friday, 26th June, 2026 the Anloga Municipal Library hosted the Anloga E.P. Basic School Creative Writers' Club members in the library.

The engagement focused on reading, comprehension, vocabulary development, literary discussions and answering comprehension questions based on the narrative.

Anloga Municipal Library Snapshot 02/06/2026

The literacy team of Anloga Municipal Library visited Anloga E.P. Basic school on our regular school visit for pupils under our coverage to retrieve storybooks given them. We also reissued new ones.

The resolve to just learn without worrying about buying storybooks, is what is making it possible to visit the 9 schools within the Anloga circuit because we are dedicated to serving them with great variety of storybooks. And this visit completes the 9th school visit.

The learners were overly excited to have the team visiting.

A total of 209 pupils were served with new books to read at home to acquire the reading and critical thinking skills needed for life.

Anloga Municipal Library Snapshot 22/05/2026

On Friday, 22 May, 2026 the Anloga Municipal Library literacy team was hosted by the Anloga R.C. Basic School.

After fruitful interactions with the learners, we are nurturing critical thinkers through our literacy initiative.

After retrieving the books with the learners, we inturn issued new books to each of them. Basic 3 through 6 learners benefitted with a total of 198 learners receiving new books.
