The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command of the Ghana Army, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Franklyn Worlanyo Agbebo has paid operational visits to 6 Infantry Battalion, 10, 11 and 12 Mechanised Battalions and the Joint Task Force Unit in Bawku from Wednesday 18 June to Saturday 21 June 2025.
The 4-day visit formed part of his maiden tour of Units within the Northern Command Area of Operation following his recent assumption of command. The GOC received a comprehensive brief from the Commanding Officers in their respective Units. The brief included the operational structure, training programmes, equipment maintenance, administrative needs, logistical capabilities and welfare measures implemented and the challenges within the Units.
Brig Gen Agbebo as part of his tour inspected key installations, facilities and ongoing projects in the Units. He visited the detachments and held an all ranks durbar in the various Units. At the durbar the GOC emphasised the importance of regular visits to detachments by Units Commanders to strengthen monitoring and supervision. He also proposed the implementation of mobile training initiative where instructors would travel to remote locations to deliver on-site training to troops.
He commended the Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff for their professionalism, hard work and dedication to the Units amidst various operational challenges and reaffirmed his support for their welfare and operational needs. He urged troops to continue working hard to achieve a common goal for the betterment of the Command.
