In response to the recent rains, NADMO Director, Deputy Director and some Disaster Officers of Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly visited its flood prone areas to access the situation and monitor affected communities.

After the heavy downpour on Friday the 22nd of May, 2026, NADMO Director and some staff of Ayawaso Central Municipality began a monitoring exercise within the Municipality to ascertain the effects of the rain.
At Alajo North the flooding was intense. Flooding homes and cars were stuck in the rain water turning into an hour traffic jam.
NADMO officials helped in directing cars with short and deliberate signs
In an hour the waters started receding and cars began to move fast and forward.
The team’s response showed how quick, calm and coordination can turn chaos into order.

Day 4 ends our Education on Flood Preparedness for this quarter. Flooding may be unpredictable but being Prepared is not. Preparedness becomes effective only when it is turned into action and practiced regularly.

Dilapidated building at Kotobabi on the Opintinse Street. NADMO, Ayawaso Central has flagged this building as high risk nine (9) months ago and has issued an evacuation warning.
