CAGD's new E-Payslip system has picked up mismatches between the Ghana Card (NIA) numbers on the payroll and employees' actual NIA records. Some staff have no NIA number on file at all. If this affects you, you won't be able to access your payslip.

๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ: Contact your institution's HR department to confirm your NIA details are correct. If there's an error or your number is missing, HR must apply for a correction along with an authorisation letter from your Head of Institution, submitted to CAGD for validation.

Physical NIA cards are no longer needed for this process, per the National Identity Register (Amended) Regulations, 2026 (L.I. 2523).

CAGD reminds all Covered Entities that opening bank accounts with the Bank of Ghana or any Commercial Bank without prior written approval from the Controller and Accountant-General is a breach of Section 51(1) of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921). Accounts opened without this approval will be closed and the funds transferred into the Consolidated Fund, and entities that fail to comply will face sanctions under the Act. All Covered Entities are directed to seek CAGD's approval before opening any new account.

PUBLIC NOTICE: CAP 30 Pension Verification Exercise

The Controller and Accountant-General's Department (CAGD) will conduct a nationwide CAP 30 Pension Documents Collection and Verification Exercise from 3rdโ€“28th August 2026 (weekdays only).

All CAP 30 pensioners and beneficiaries must visit their designated verification centre with the required documents to ensure uninterrupted monthly pension payments.

PRESS RELEASE

Accra, July 16, 2026 โ€” The Controller and Accountant-General's Department (CAGD) wishes to clarify claims circulating on social media alleging that funds approved for the Accraโ€“Kumasi Expressway project have been mismanaged, diverted, or paid out to contractors.

The Department assures the public that the approved funds have not been paid to any contractor or spent on construction works. They remain in a dedicated Bank of Ghana account pending project ex*****on. The accounting treatment applied is a standard Government accounting practice and is fully consistent with Ghana's Public Financial Management framework.

CAGD remains committed to transparency and full compliance with the Public Financial Management Act in the management of all public funds, and will continue to provide accurate updates as the project progresses.
