Today, the UDP Students’ Wing Task Force held a fruitful meeting with the new Executive Committee of the University of Education, The Gambia (UEG).

The meeting focused on grassroots campaign strategies for the upcoming elections and plans for a Policy Training for members of the Students wing. The discussion focused on the importance of working together in unity to help the party achieve its goals in the forthcoming elections.

Several pressing issues affecting our student bodies were also raised and discussed. As student leaders and members of the party, we reaffirmed our commitment to working together to address these challenges while contributing meaningfully to the party’s success.

Together, united in purpose, we remain committed to building stronger student bodies and a more successful future for our party.

COURTESY MEETING BETWEEN THE UDP STUDENTS WING TASK FORCE AND THE WING'S EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The UDP Students Wing Task Force held a courtesy meeting with its Executive committee during which both sides shared strategic plans for grassroot campaign and discussed the way forward.

The executive members warmly welcomed the establishment of the Students Wing Task Force and commended the initiative. They encouraged members of the Task Force to remain dedicated, focused, and committed to advancing the objectives of the party.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Lamin Manneh, Secretary General of the Students Wing, and Mr. Ismaila Federa, President of the Students Wing, expressed their commend over the formation of the Task Force, describing it as an important driving force that will help strengthen the activities and effectiveness of the Students Wing.

The meeting also featured productive discussions on the Task Force’s agenda and strategies for effective implementation. The executive assured the Task Force of their unwavering support and pledged to provide guidance and assistance whenever necessary.

Furthermore, both sides held extensive discussions on preparations, plans, and strategies for the upcoming election, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, unity, discipline, and active engagement to ensure the success of the Students Wing.

UDP Students Wing in Collaboration with UTG Pan African Students Association celebrate African Liberation Day*

The United Democratic Party (UDP) Students’ Wing, in collaboration with The University of The Gambia Pan-African Students Association (PANASA),
Yesterday, 25th May, successfully commemorated African Liberation Day through an insightful and engaging program.

The event featured speakers who talked about Pan-Africanism, African unity, and the need for the decolonization of the African mind.

The UDP Students’ Wing also hosted a panel discussion moderated by Assan Sonko (Head of UDP Students wing TaskForce) and Emil Gibba (member of TaskForce) talked on youth participation in politics, where they both engaged students on the importance of young people participating in effective governance and national development. Equally highlighting how UDP has been at the forefront of engaging young people through students led initiatives, youth mobilisation and community service and leadership.

The interactive questions and answers session further helped the students in attendance clear their doubts and some of the misconception about UDP it's agendas and Values.

The commemoration and the platform served as a reminder that the future of Africa rest upon the shoulders of active, conscious and informed mindsets.

The SG of the UDP Students’ Wing Lamin Manneh, alongside Binta Senghore and Jarai Fayinke, are currently in Ankara, Turkey, as part of a delegation representing the United Democratic Party (UDP) National Youth Wing at the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) World Congress in Istanbul, Turkey.

The delegation joins youth leaders from across the globe to engage in meaningful dialogue under the theme: “Democracy Under Pressure: Youth, Social Justice, and Political Alternatives in Africa.” Their participation reflects the UDP’s strong commitment to youth inclusion, democratic values, and progressive political engagement at both continental and global levels.

Through this engagement, the delegation will share perspectives, exchange ideas, and strengthen international networks aimed at advancing social justice, good governance, and sustainable political alternatives for Africa.

The UDP remains steadfast in its resolve to create a conducive environment for young people to thrive, empowering them to harness their leadership potential both nationally and internationally.

Opening of H.E. A.N.M Ousainu Darboe Scholarship for Youth Employment

The UDP Diaspora Finland Chapter, in collaboration with UDP The Gambia and Ceci-Educare Oy in Finland is pleased to officially announce the opening of applications for the H.E. A.N.M Ousainu Darboe Scholarship for Youth Employment.

The H.E. A.N.M Ousainu Darboe Scholarship for Youth Employment is designed to promote skills development, capacity building, and professional advancement for Gambian youth and working adults, both at home and abroad.
