The formation of Team-Progressive Gambia aims to provide Gambia with a new path towards progress and development by enlightening and educating Gambians about the needs to have innovative policies, citizen participation, and inclusive governance. The team seeks to provide solutions to the challenges such as corruption, tribalism, nepotism, bad attitudes and lots more that have hindered the nation's growth.

We believed Together, we can build a more prosperous and equitable Gambia for the benefit of all its citizens.

The formation of Team - Progressive Gambia is based on the understanding that the current political landscape requires a new vision, thus the need for enlightenment of the general populace and party leaders inclusive. Tribalism, derogatory statements, insults, and character deformation are seen as the yardstick to bring down an opponent instead of ideas and development plans. This caused division among Gambians and thus re****ed the will to form a block to develop the nation. The support and cooperation between Gambians have been sabotaged by this form of politics. The existing parties may have made some strides, but the pace of progress has been inadequate.

The lack of substantial development in key areas necessitates an ideology and revolutionary approach that can bring about transformative change and developing the nation. In the light of the above, and as concern citizens of the Gambia living in the Gambia and abroad, we believe that by working together we can fulfil our overall objective by addressing these issues. We would fulfil our goals by undertaking various programs geared towards education, peace talks, rights and responsibility discussions and many more activities that would bring about peace, unity, and development.

WAKE UP

We have a huge responsibility as youths towards the way the country is tilting in terms of the justice system, security, and inflation. I believed that we had a better understanding of how we could fix this country than the previous generation. We are the current generation and suffer more due to the weakness and lack of vision and prioritisation of our current leaders.

It’s time we form a block and change this situation in the upcoming presidential elections. I call on all youths who are eligible and will be eligible to vote in the coming elections to not follow the noise but choose based on leaders with a clear understanding of their programmes.

Unless we prioritise programmes and visions, we will not move forward as a country. Leaders are chosen based on the clear programmes they have, which they also understand to the tip of their fingers and are also applicable. Not programmes that are not achievable or promises that are vague and loose.

It’s time, and this is the chance.

A CALL FOR ALL

Gambia The Smiling Coast: With hope, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to contribute to the development and progress of our beloved nation, today I declare my unwavering commitment to call every Gambian to the politics of ideas to undo and build the nation we desire.

However, our political landscape has been infiltrated with divisive rhetoric, personal attacks,tribalism and a lack of substantive discourse. As young and vibrant individuals, we possess the power to change this narrative.

It is our duty to reshape politics and usher in a new era defined by the power of ideas, rational debates, and inclusive decision-making.

The politics of ideas is not limited to any specific ideology or party affiliation. It is a philosophy that transcends boundaries and embraces diverse perspectives, ensuring that our collective voices are heard and our dreams are given due consideration. It is a commitment to engaging in constructive dialogue, proposing innovative solutions, and working towards the betterment of our society.

Our economy, sovereignty, and resources have all been traded, and our arable land has been depleted and abandoned. A country that should have been at the pinnacle of development is now on its knees, begging and enslaved by debt. Employment is one of the most difficult things to obtain today, whether for the educated or the uneducated. A country engulfed in corruption requires liberation.

Encouraging innovation in governance, economics, social programs, and technology will result in new perspectives and innovative solutions to today's difficulties and the construction of a better future for all.

Ideas have the ability to transcend space and time. We may build policies and activities that will have a long-term impact on future generations by engaging in the politics of ideas. It is our obligation to shape the Gambia we wish to inherit and to leave a positive legacy for future generations. By shifting the focus away from personal assaults and unrealistic promises and having substantive conversations with tangible answers, we can restore trust in politics.

The youth are critical to restoring trust in our government processes and encouraging people to participate actively.

I urge each one of you to join TEAM-PROGRESSIVE GAMBIA in order to remedy the issues affecting our society and share your unique perspectives and solutions.

Together, we can bring about the change we wish to see and shape the future of our nation.
