Although the library is open as usual this morning due to a planned power cut we will be unable to serve coffee until approximately 1045. Water cakes and scones will obviously still be available from 10 am.

A little late this week publishing our hours, but the VOCAL library will be open Thursday and Friday this week from 10am to 1pm.

It is definitely beach ready weather, so why not pop in to find some reading material to while away time on that sunbed, or by the pool?

Coffee and cake as usual on Thursday with some scones and jam, or a mandarin cake.

It’s May, the weather seems to realise that summer is due and the VOCAL Library has moved onto summer hours. That means from now until the end of July, we will be open on Thursday and Friday only from 10am to 1pm. EXCEPT this week, because on Sunday 10 May we will at last be holding our spring bazaar and our library will be open then, too.

Pop along and pick up some beach ready books and on Thursday join us for coffee and cake as usual (the refreshment stall will be open on Sunday at the bazaar, too, with all sorts of delicious cakes and pastries to tempt you. This Thursday, our yummy bakes will be a wonderful chocolate brownie cake (Janette’s birthday cake with thanks to talented Jeannine Waller) plus some crisp, flaky Apple and Cinnamon Pastries.

It’s our final week of winter hours because believe it or not, summer season is officially here!

This week we’re open Wednesday and Thursday ONLY (Friday is a public holiday, hurrah) from 10am until 1pm. It’s definitely been something approaching beach weather this week so why not pop along and choose something to read on the sunbed or by the pool, maybe whilst sipping a cold beer, or a coffee.

On Thursday we’ll have our usual coffee and cake. This week is a Malted Chocolate Cake (think maltesers!) and a Victoria Sponge. See you there!

So, after a little Easter break we will be back open this week at the VOCAL library from Wednesday through Saturday from 10am to 1pm each day.

We have a few new releases going on the shelf, including the latest Lee Child, and as usual on Thursday we will have our coffee morning with delicious home made cakes. This week it’s a Bakewell Tart and a Lemon Cake filled with lemon mascarpone cream.

Pop along and see us, on the Kritsa road out of Agios Nikolaos a few doors before the British Food Shop.

Thank you to those of our customers that turned out for coffee and cake today after yesterday's dreadful weather. It was a bit chilly because of the breeze but at least the sun shone for most of the morning.

As well as sampling the cakes they even made themselves useful by assisting with cutting off a dangerous tree branch which had splintered in the storm, helping sweep up a veritable desert of dust from the patio tiles and assisting with clearing up at the end of the morning.

Please note that the library is open tomorrow (Friday 3rd) and on Saturday (4th) but after that we are CLOSED for our Easter break and we will reopen on Wednesday 22nd April by which time the weather will hopefully be behaving itself!

Also we'd like to let you know that our Spring Bazaar has also been affected by the weather and will now take place on Saturday 25th April.

Finally, thanks to local people's generosity we have lots and lots of lovely things to sell so NO MORE DONATIONS, please.

The weather remains uncertain but we’ll be open this week at the VOCAL Library! Pop along from Wednesday through Saturday from 10am to 1pm each day.

On Thursday, unless we get torrential rain, our coffee morning will go ahead and this week our bakes are a Chocolate Banana Bread and a Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Very old school!

We are very much hoping that on Saturday the weather stays fine and we can have our Spring Bazaar and Craft Fair. Watch this space! We have loads of really good quality second hand clothing, household items and more to sell, and every cent we make goes towards VOCAL’s valuable work helping the local cats. Our ever popular refreshments stall will be open too with delicious sweet and savoury treats plus coffee.

The bazaar will (hopefully) open at 10am on Saturday. Do come and see us!

In view of the weather forecast for tomorrow (rain, rain and then more rain) the VOCAL library will be closed for the day (Saturday 28th). However our lovely librarian Deborah will be there today until 1pm for you to choose and exchange your books.

Also please note that because of tomorrow’s weather our Spring Bazaar and Craft Fair is postponed and will now take place the following week on Saturday 4 April.

The weather’s grim. Time to curl up by the fire with a good book!

The VOCAL Library is CLOSED tomorrow (Wednesday 25th) because it’s Independence Day, and a public holiday.

We are OPEN on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 1pm, and on Thursday we will be doing coffee and cake as usual. This week’s bakes are a Lemon Drizzle Cake, or some bacon rolls. Yum!

At the moment our Spring Bazaar and Craft Fair is due to take place on Saturday, 28th March. However, the weather forecast doesn’t look good so it may be necessary to postpone it for one week, until Saturday 4th April. We’re monitoring the forecast and will make a decision on Thursday about what to do. Watch this space!

We regret to inform our customers that due to the mixed but generally poor weather that is forecast in the coming week, the VOCAL Library will be CLOSED all week and will reopen on Thursday 26th March (Wednesday 25th is Independence Day, and a public holiday).

Well, it looks like spring is finally springing this week, which is set fair. Our Easter decorations are up at the library and we’re certainly looking VERY springlike with eggs, flowers and bunnies everywhere!

It’s a full week for us between clinics, meaning that we’re open four days Wednesday through Saturday from 10am to 1pm each day. We have books for all tastes, including Watership Down!

Don’t forget that you can drop off your donations for our spring bazaar while we’re open, too. Good quality clothing, bric a brac, books, CDs, linen and DVDs all welcome. In case you need to mark the calendar, the bazaar will be on SATURDAY 28 MARCH.

Thursday is coffee and cake day as usual. This week we have some scones with homemade jam, plus a Coconut and Lime Cake. Pop along, have a natter with friends in the sun, and enjoy!
