After an extended summer break, the VOCAL lending library will reopen this week on Thursday, 10th September.

Throughout the winter, we will be open for two days a week only, being Thursday and Friday, and our coffee and cake mornings are moving to monthly. First coffee and cake will be next week on Thursday 17th September.

Why not pop along and see us, exchange your books and at our monthly coffee morning you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee or tea plus delicious cakes all in return for a donation. Every cent we take through the library goes towards the care and neutering of the local street cats. So it is a very worthy course.

We look forward to seeing you this autumn.

In case you don’t know the VOCAL library is located on the Kritsa Road out of Agios Nikolaos on the way to Lidl, just a few doors down from the British Food Shop.

Unfortunately due to various circumstances, the VOCAL Library will not be open during July or August. There will not be any coffee mornings, either.

We will reopen in September.

Our popular coffee mornings will resume in September also, but just once a month instead of weekly.

If you have books to return you can do so at any time there is someone on the premises. Please leave your returns on the white trolley by the desk. which has the ‘Returns’ notice. Please do not leave books outside the door.

Hopefully you will be pleased to hear that the VOCAL library is back open tomorrow only (Thursday 25th) as there is a clinic on Friday.

Unless we get a VERY hot spell of weather or we have clinics, we will be open on normal days/hours throughout July but as usual we will be closed for August.

This Thursday our coffee morning will be back, with this week’s bakes being a Banana and Chestnut Loaf, or some Blueberry Muffins.

PS If you don’t know where we are, the library is located on the Kritsa Road out of Agios Nikolaos, just a few doors down from the British Food Shop. Look out for our sign.

Unfortunately the VOCAL Library will not be open this Thursday for various reasons. So sadly, no coffee and cake this week.

If you need to exchange your books it WILL be open on Friday, 19th.

We hope to be back to normal next week. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside our control, the VOCAL Library will be CLOSED this week.

We will reopen on Thursday 18th June when we will have coffee & cake as usual.

Feeling hot, hot, hot! It’s June, and summer is well and truly on the way.

Join us at the VOCAL Library this week on Thursday or Friday between 10 am and 1 pm. We have plenty of books for you to while away time on a sunbed or at the beach. Thomas Hardy, Anne Frank and George Orwell were all born in June and we have books from them on our shelves as well as as many other authors in different genre.

On the first day as usual, we will have our coffee morning and this week’s bakes are a Victoria sponge with strawberry jam and a coconut and lime cake with lime icing. And of course we have freshly brewed coffee and pot of tea.

Every cent we make in the library goes towards VOCAL’s valuable work caring for the local street cats. Every single donation contributes towards either on neutering programme, medication or maintaining our premises in order that we can run our clinics. So everything you donate for borrowing a book, eating a slice of delicious cake or having a cup of coffee helps towards that aim.

Pop along and see us, we’d be delighted to see you!  if you’re not sure where we are we are on the Kritsa Road out of Agios Nikolaos, a few doors before you reach the British Food Shop.

We hardly dare say that summer is officially here, but this week it certainly feels like it.

Join us at the VOCAL Library on Thursday or Friday to pick out some beach reads, to while away time in the sun or the shade whatever genre of fiction you fancy. Crime, thrillers, classics, romance or historical fiction plus a few biographies and general good stories.

We're open Thursday and Friday from 10am to 1pm and on Thursday it's our weekly coffee morning, this week with a Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf, and a Cherry Bakewell.

A reminder that the library is open ONLY on Thursday this week due to veterinary clinics on Friday and Saturday.

So if you need more reading material for the beach, pop up and see us then.

Our Thursday cakes this week are a lemon cake or some cinnamon pastries.

Although the library is open as usual this morning due to a planned power cut we will be unable to serve coffee until approximately 1045. Water cakes and scones will obviously still be available from 10 am.

A little late this week publishing our hours, but the VOCAL library will be open Thursday and Friday this week from 10am to 1pm.

It is definitely beach ready weather, so why not pop in to find some reading material to while away time on that sunbed, or by the pool?

Coffee and cake as usual on Thursday with some scones and jam, or a mandarin cake.
