On the 13th September 2024 Mr. Herald Alves Culture and Youth Officer of region no 2 and three other youths of the region attended a USA Embassy of Guyana Exchange Alumni programmes dinner. This dinner was hosted by the US Ambassador of Guyana and it was held at the Ambassador resident.

This was the first time all alumini members meet together to interact and share with eachother from around Guyana.

The ambassador promise to make this event an annual one. Where the ambassador and staffs get to meet all of the alumini members. Dr. Frank Anthony

On the 24th August 2024 the Ministry of Culture Youth & Sport held a closing ceremony and distribution of certificates to the youths of region no 2 who attended the Culture and Steel Pan Camp held in the month of July and August.

Over the past week the youths learn how to play the Indian and african drums, dance, history and culture, art and crafts and playing of the steel pans.

Present at the closing ceremony was the Minister of culture youth and sport, the director of culture, the regional sports organiser, the culture and Youth officer of region no 2 and other staff of the ministry of culture youth and sport.
A Representative of Republic bank Guyana who was the sponsor of the steel pan monitor camp. This year will make two years since the bank have sponsor the steel pan camp. This is done in an effort to preserve the culture and playing of Steel Pan in Guyana.

During the minister remarks he encourages the youths to make full use of what they have learnt over the pass weeks. He also assured them that the camps will continue next year in more communities along the region.

The youths was presented with a certificate of participation in the culture and steel pan camp. Also, the volunteers and instructors was presented with a plaque of appreciation of they service and time given to the youths.

On the 24th August 2024 the Ministry of Culture Youth & Sport held a closing ceremony and distribution of certificates to the youths of region no 2 who attended the Culture and Steel Pan Camp held in the month of July and August.

It's the beginning of the final week for the steel pan camp in region no. 2. In just give days these youths from not knowing to play the steel pans to knowing to play.
Isn't this a wonderful job done the instructor?

If we can do this much in five days. The youths will be able to do much more in the coming days.

The Department of Culture ended it's first week of Steel Pan camp on a positive note.
When the camp started the youths started off not knowing to play on the steel pans and at the end of the week. They know how to play a song.
The ministry of culture youth and sport continues to provide learning opportunities for youths of region no. 2.

Thanks to the instructor who makes learning fun and Youth friendly.

The Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport yesterday started it's 2nd Steel Pan Camp in region no. 2, at the Anna Regina Multilateral school.

The Culture and Youth Officer Mr. Herald Alves was at the camp to welcome the youths to camp and encourage them to make full use of the opportunity given to them.

This year will be the second year the ministry would have created this opportunity for the youths to learn to play steel pan in the region.
Youths from across the region are presenting this camp.
The camp will last for two weeks. At the end of the camp there will be a closing ceremony for campers. Each camper will be presented with a certificate from the ministry of culture youth and sport.
