Approximately 40 delegates representing 20 member and associate member states, along with observers and representatives from other territories, will gather in Guyana for the 31st Caribbean Port State Control Conference (CPSCC).
The conference will be held from June 16 to 18, 2026, at the AC Marriott Hotel in Ogle and will focus on strengthening regional cooperation and harmonising efforts to improve vessel safety, compliance, and port state control practices across the Caribbean. The event will also provide an opportunity for maritime administrations, port state control officers, and industry stakeholders to share best practices, address emerging industry challenges, and advance compliance with international maritime standards.
Guyana will also host the Regional Meeting of Directors and Heads of Maritime Administrations (DIHMAR) from June 22 to 24, 2026, at the Aiden by Best Western in Georgetown.
Convened under the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the DIHMAR Meeting brings together senior maritime officials to review developments in the sector, strengthen regional cooperation, and advance initiatives supporting maritime safety, security, and environmental protection.
Hosting both events reflects Guyanaโs continued commitment to regional maritime development and highlights the countryโs growing role in advancing stronger maritime governance, regulatory oversight, and safe, efficient, and sustainable shipping throughout the Caribbean.
