This evening, I met with representatives of both private and public sector entities of Kingston, Georgetown.

The meeting served as an initial discussion with surrounding businesses and public offices regarding the enhancement and beautification of the Kingston area. The project, which will be spearheaded by the Ministry of Natural Resources, aims to improve the Kingston environment by accumulating the efforts of these entities through collaboration and under the guidance of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The goal is to beautify the area utilising various approaches such as the planting of trees and plants to boost the presence of flora, development of the drains and parapets, et al.

Attendees welcomed the initiative and expressed their appreciation during the open platform segment, as they relayed their suggestions and concerns regarding the project. This environmental enhancement project will create a green appearance and will promote and encourage the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.

In keeping with the commitment of the Government of Guyana to beautify Georgetown, the Ministry of Natural Resources will continue to engage with the public and private entities of Kingston to encourage their collaboration with the Ministry to ensure that the beautification of Kingston becomes fruition.
