In our Green Women Festival 2026, we welcomed a diverse range of speakers and talk styles—from sessions on small animals, AI, male allyship, and alternate proteins, to chocolate tastings, breathwork, laughing yoga, music performances, and a panel on redefining success. The panel was sponsored by the Canadian Consulate to Hong Kong and Macau.

We truly thank all our speakers for their dedication and for creating engaging, interactive presentations.

Last weekend, Encompass HK successfully hosted the Green Women Festival at Eaton HK, bringing together over 250 participants across two days. The event featured 30+ speakers and facilitators, 10 booths, and 13 workshops. It was truly a community-led, inclusive, and intersectional event—one that celebrated women’s leadership and the diversity of voices driving sustainability.

We worked hard to showcase the impact of women across all backgrounds in sustainability. We welcomed participation from trans communities, migrant workers, refugee NGOs, youth, sustainability startups, and organizations with a gender-lens focus, and more.

The Green Women Festival would not have been possible without our participants, partners, and supporters. As a sustainability-forward event, we aimed to keep it as green as possible. We partnered with The Loops HK for “dirty recycling” services—sorting and cleaning recyclables before processing. We’re happy to share that 80% of the trash (12.65 kg) collected at their bins was recyclable.

And we have so many photos to share with you—we’re excited for you to see them! In the coming days, we’ll be posting snapshots of the Festival in different albums so you can feel the energy and excitement of the event. Our first album will feature the diverse workshops we hosted, from Plant Ink, making your own tote bag, and DIY hand cream and lip balm, to bioleather workshops. We also spotlighted community leaders who are ready to make an impact as our facilitators.

🌾「水口豐饒節」展覽：《耕作生態 水源長流》
第一屆「 #水口豐饒節」，由立冬至翌年立春，正好跨越整個冬季。
香港觀鳥會透過一系列活動，向公眾分享過去四年，在水口濕地 #復耕米田 和 #生態保育 方面的工作。

上年尾，我們在水口舉辦了「豐收月」和「豐年慶」；
今年初，我們將四年的保育點滴帶來城市，在又一城 ！

邀請大家一同經歷這段，由全身泥濘到金黃米田的蛻變之旅✨

・🌱 四大主題展板
按「源起、難關、回憶、復育」四個章節，帶大家了解鳥會如何由發現生態困境出發，與水口村民合作一步步復耕米田，讓村民重拾昔日回憶之餘，亦營造多元濕地吸引黃胸鵐、爪哇池鷺等珍稀物種回歸。

・🏞️ 3D 模型：鳥瞰水口多元化生境
包括米田、生態池、沼澤、風水林、河溪、泥灘等

・🦆 近 30 種雀鳥與生物展示
涵蓋水口常見及重點物種，例如黃胸鵐、水雉、牛背鷺、

在Encompass HK，我們很高興能通過生態旅遊、 校園講座和書籍分發來推廣本地生物多樣性。我們很高興最近支持由 無止橋 Wu Zhi Qiao舉辦的沙頭角回收及可持續旅遊教育大使培訓，並向所有學員分發一本免費的《香港野》。該「回收及可持續旅遊教育大使」訓練計劃將於十月尾至十一月進行理論課及實地考察。參與者將深入村落，學習鄉郊回收與可持續旅遊導賞技巧，並實踐所學，助力沙頭角可持續發展！我們希望所有的教育大使能享受書中有關野生生物的知識，並推廣可持續的生態旅遊。

At Encompass HK, we are pleased to promote local biodiversity through our ecotours, school talks, and book distribution. We are glad to have recently supported the Sha Tau Kok Recycling and Sustainable Tourism Education Ambassador Training organized by the Wu Zhi Qiao Charity Foundation, where we distributed a free copy of “Wildcreatures of Hong Kong” to all participants.

This “Sha Tau Kok Recycling and Sustainable Tourism Education Ambassador” training program will conduct theoretical classes and field trips from the end of October to November. Participants will delve into the villages to learn recycling and sustainable tourism guiding skills, and practice what they learn to contribute to the sustainable development of Sha Tau Kok! We hope all the ambassadors will enjoy the knowledge of wild creatures in the book and promote sustainable ecotourism.

🎉 Thank you to our supporters, friends, and partners who joined us for the Encompass HK party last night!

✨ Seven years ago, I never imagined Encompass would come this far. We started from humble beginnings, with me running around like a headless chicken 🐔 organizing public workshops. It wasn't until I gave a TEDx talk in April 2019 that things began to change. That talk led us to our first client, SWIRE, and from there, everything started to run much more smoothly.

👏 A special thanks to Brair Armani, for her engaging belly dance performance 💃, and to YK, our visually impaired musician 🎶, for jamming with us during live karaoke. Our party truly reflected our commitment to diversity and inclusion, bringing together people from ages 2 to 70 👶👵 and a variety of backgrounds, embodying the values we uphold at Encompass HK.

🌟 We look forward to many more years of impact at Encompass!

What a delightful bird-singing competition! We absolutely love this event for promoting local awareness of birds and their beautiful songs. We'll be excited to support it next year. Thank you to all the competitors for providing us with such a joyful experience!

We are proud to share our Wildcreatures Hong Kong partner Robert I. Ferguson's recent interview with Orange News, where he discusses what it means to be a wildlife photographer. He talks about his interest in the firefly season at Tai Po Kau, his “media war” with a Sai Kung environmental center, and his experiences photographing for the book “Wildcreatures HK”

Robert believes there is a generational shift happening in Hong Kong. Kids are exploring their surroundings and discovering life within the creeks. Educating this next generation may be the hope the city needs to preserve nature.

British wildlife photographer Robert Ferguson shares tips in outdoor shooting, and questions the voice of nature in Hong Kong.
