🚨 HORSE SALE SCAMS IN HUNGARY – STAY ALERT! 🚨
📩 Need help or info?
Send me a private message (PM).
⚠️ Never pay anyone claiming they can retrieve your money or horse — it’s usually another scam.
❌ Don’t try vigilante justice (hackers, mobsters, etc.) — you could lose money or even go to jail.
📍 Where it happens
Mostly Békés County: Békéscsaba, Szarvas, Kunszentmárton, Orosháza & nearby villages.
Scammers now reach international buyers (Canada, Finland, Egypt…).
Honest sellers exist, but always verify before paying.
🧐 How the scam works
1️⃣ “Perfect Horse” Ads
Beautiful horses, attractive prices.
Posted on Facebook groups, Jófogás, E-Horses, Instagram.
Multiple photos of the same horse in different tack/backgrounds.
2️⃣ Payment Upfront
Excuses like: “Others are interested” or “I was scammed before.”
Never pay before seeing the horse in person.
3️⃣ After Payment
“The horse got sick or injured — can’t ship yet.”
Seller vanishes or stalls with emotional excuses.
4️⃣ Bait-and-Switch
You get a different horse, or the horse is sick/injured.
Seller denies responsibility.
⚡ Why it continues
Victims are ashamed, stay silent.
Scammers operate in families or close circles.
Multiple fake accounts avoid bans.
They mass-report posts exposing them.
✅ What you can do
Inspect in person before paying.
Check microchip numbers, ownership papers, reputation.
Report suspicious offers to Hungarian Police (Btk. 373 § – Fraud).
Share verified info with other buyers.
🔍 Red Flags
Reused first names or profile patterns.
Heavy focus on luxury cars, designer clothes, flashy jewelry.
Kitschy, baroque-style photos or staged family shots.
Videos where someone else rides or handles the horse.
🙌 Don’t be silent.
Speaking up stops scammers, protects honest buyers, and supports legitimate sellers.
