Hey, my name is Gergely Takács (Gery) from Hungary. I started skateboarding at 42 after riding BMX Flatland for about 15 years.
I gotta be careful with skating cuz I have to take my 3 apartment dogs for a walk 3 times daily, so no injuries allowed!

Back into riding BMX Flatland after a 3-year hiatus. I also skate before my Flatland sesh. Sometimes it is frustrating, very tiring, but progression and the joy of new tricks pulled for the first time makes up for everything :)
,,A biciklim a mindenem, rajta lesz az ingemen” 😊 My bike is my everything, gonna write it on my ... shirt. This does not rhyme in English, but it sure is very funny in my mother tongue, Hungarian. We used to joke around with this sentence, had lots of laughter and nice BMX Flatland practises. And I still do. Some of us have taken a longer or shorter hiatus, but I believe 'once a rider, always a rider". BMX is a Life Long Love

Yo, I am Gergely Takács, I was born in ‘76, Miskolc, Hungary (a small country in Europe).
I switched to skateboarding from riding more than 15 years of BMX Flatland. It was mainly because of two things: having 3 apartment dogs and getting stuck with my tricks.
I felt I could not improve with my tricks, and because of the daily rush with my 3 apartment dogs, I felt that the clock is my worst enemy. Going out to ride became stressful because of having to rush to work and walking my dogs 3 times a day.
I felt that skateboarding might not put that constraint on me, as I though I would consider it less serious than BMX, but the thing is that even though I only ride an hour a day, I still take skating seriously in my own way, as far as my knee allows it.
I also regretted having sold my Flatland bike, but I am sure to be back on pegs in the future as soon as I can replace my job as a teacher with my online mushroom coffee business.
