🍾 THE FACES BEHIND WWA 🍾

What makes a great international wine competition? Is it the wines? The jury? The team behind the scenes? The communications?

The answer is simple: it's all of these—and the people who bring every piece together.

From the first preparations, which begin months before the competition, to collecting and judging more than 1,000 wines, coordinating the jury, communicating with wineries, managing sponsors and partners, overseeing sales, and finally sharing the results with the world, every step is brought together by one person: Bogi Ádám, CEO of Winelovers.

Leading an event of this scale is far more than a three-day commitment. It requires months of planning, constant communication, and the ability to keep countless moving parts aligned. Every edition aims to deliver even greater value for wineries, strengthen partnerships, expand the competition's reach, and create an even smoother experience for everyone involved.

Through her dedication, strategic vision, and tireless leadership, Bogi keeps the entire operation running—from the first conversation with a winery or sponsor to the final announcement of the results. She is truly one of the driving forces behind the success of the Winelovers Wine Awards.

🏆 Best of Italy, France & Spain – Winelovers Wine Awards 2026 🇮🇹🇫🇷🇪🇸

Some countries don't just make wine — they are wine. This year's Best of awards remind us why Italy, France, and Spain remain the beating heart of the wine world: the Old World that wrote the rulebook every modern winery still studies today.

🇮🇹 Best of Italy: Compagnia Siciliana 1921 – Real Academia 2020
A Nero d'Avola from Sicily, named after 1921 — the year Sicilian wine first conquered international markets. Rich, velvety, full of red fruit and licorice, dressed (quite literally, on the label) in Sicilian tradition.

🇫🇷 Best of France: Champagne Brimoncourt Extra Brut NV
An 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay blend sourced from six Grand Cru villages, aged six years in the cellar. Precise, mineral, and unmistakably Champagne.

🇪🇸 Best of Spain: El Vínculo – Alejairén Crianza 2023
Made from 90-year-old Airén vines in La Mancha and aged in French oak — proof that even Spain's most humble native grape can produce something extraordinary.

These three countries paved the path that every "new world" winery has followed since — the appellations, the techniques, the philosophy of terroir. Old World wine isn't just history. It's still winning. 🍷

🍾 THE FACES BEHIND WWA 🍾

No wine competition of this scale could happen without the dedication of our incredible interns.

Year after year, many of them return to the Winelovers Wine Awards, becoming familiar faces and an indispensable part of the team. Their enthusiasm, reliability, and hard work help keep every tasting session running smoothly.

From preparing the tasting rooms and supporting the logistics team to serving wines to the judges with precision and care, our interns are involved in every step of the competition. They also assist with score administration, ensuring that every result is recorded accurately and every tasting proceeds without interruption.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout the competition. We are grateful for their commitment, energy, and willingness to go the extra mile—because behind every successful edition of the Winelovers Wine Awards is a team of helping hands that makes it all possible.
