"We are delighted to let you know that we are having an open day for our new Waldorf School at The Wetlands Centre Ballybay. It's been a long time simmering in the dream realm and now here it is with the work of a group of like minded determined parents! We are excited to welcome enrolments for September for the following classes -

Kindergarten (ages apx 3-5 ECCE)
Bridge (ages 5-7)
Class 1 (ages 7-8)
Class 2 & 3 (ages 8-10)

It will be a wonderful day for all the family and wider community 😊"

Day 3: is always the sweet spot ✨ where we are just getting into our flow.
Today brought all kinds of weather ☁️☀️🌧️❄️ and staying warm and dry was a challenge.
We learned all about stewardship for the environment in a very real context as the ditch that everyone has enjoyed playing in was starting to show signs of wear. So today, rather than playing in it. A group used grass clippings, leaves and mud to patch it up and cover the big tree's roots. And even put some new plants in 🌏💚 this is what it's all about!!
We whittled sticks for marshmallows and refined our fire lighting skills. Wayne showed us some of his tricks on the Slackline. Pouki brought popcorn for everyone and we enjoyed some s'mores and hot juice around the fire. A wonderful day of fun, friendships and mud.

A very full heart after a lovely few days camp. Thank you to every child for all you brought to it and to every parent for seeing through the mud and supporting us. 🙏💖

Camp was a hive of activity today. Pouki .ie lead the opening circle. We dropped into our senses with some tribal skills and fox walking. 🐾
We had some good conversations about our impact on the environment 🌏 and on our favourite place to play....the ditch! We can see we are leaving our footprints here and had a think about what we need to do to protect it. Some very good suggestions, including using rope ladders, building a bridge and even leaving it to rest. 💚
Lots of people had a go at whittling and learned about using tools safely with .ie
We had to huddle in close as the rain came just before lunchtime.
Some chilling in the hammocks and friends helping each other on the low ropes and slack lines

Spring Camp 🌼🌱
Day 1: the rain stayed off (for today) but the forest was still very muddy from all the recent rain.
We had 20 brave wildlings heading off into the woods today.
We enjoyed a few warm up games including making a web of connections 🕸️ to bring us all together, a screaming game to release some energy.
Off into the forest to explore where the ditch was the epicenter of activity. Some liked chilling in the hammocks, we tried our hand at making mini fires 🔥 and started a den and had a great big game of bat 🦇 and moth 🦋 before tidying up.

Huge thank you to Wild Clan and Outback Dad Bushcraft for overseeing Camp Day 2! 🍁🍂🍄🪵🔥
The day kicked off with a bit of screaming and sliding back down the hill.
We gathered around the circle and offered the group the choice over the plan off the day. Mentioned everything that we could do, reminded them that time goes fast and we will have to make choices.
Hard decision but the group decided to play and camouflage themselves in nature. One participant was so keen to learn whittling skills that he got a 1 to 1 lesson to make his own spoon another one worked on making a training knife (rounded edges)
Most worked on whittling at some point. Talked about which wood we used and what coppicing is.
To keep us warm at lunch we had a fire,. managed to make a few corn pop (more technical experiment needed) and s'mores.
One last round of disappearing in the stillness of nature (hide and seek) before it was time to go.
This being a returning group, it was a pleasure to see their interests leading them to what they wanted to do and how much they've grown since the last time they were in the forest with us
