Councillor Janice Boylan was selected as the party candidate for the Dublin Central by-election. The campaign starts now to elect Janice, a strong advocate for workers, families and communities, as the next TD for Dublin Central.

The rip off continues! A further 16,000 households fell behind on their electricity bills in just one month. The total figure now stand at almost 320,00 households. What’s happening here is scandalous. Price gouging energy companies jack-up their electricity prices and Fianna Fáil+Fine Gael don’t lift a finger.
We told the government this would happen when they removed energy credits and left workers worse off the Budget. But they didn’t listen and now it’s ordinary household is Cork and across the country who pay the price.
It’s time for this gutless government to grow a backbone and end the rip off. Stand-up to these greedy energy companies, introduce a cost of living support package for working households, and work to make life affordable!

We are deeply saddened to share that the Cork Life Centre's former Director, Don O'Leary, has passed away. His impact on the Centre and our young people was immense and his loss will be sincerely felt by all.

We won't be running classes on Monday and we had a planned closure for teacher training on Tuesday but the Centre will be open from 10:30 to 15:00 both days (outside of the funeral time) if members of the Cork Life Centre community wish to come in and talk, reminisce, congregate.

The best way to honour Don's work and contribution to the Cork Life Centre will be to keep doing what we've always done and being who we have always been - serving our young people with integrity and respect and doing everything we can to ensure the sustainability of this wonderful organisation into the future.

Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.

ON THE ONE ROAD

For the first time, we are seeing the left join together behind one candidate. Catherine believes in this island, in our unity and our neutrality. She is a voice for ordinary people and communities. She is thoughtful and considerate - exactly what we want in our president.

Tomorrow, we’ll be in Blackpool Shopping Centre. Come along if you’d like to meet Catherine and see why I believe she is the best candidate for Uachtaráin na hÉireann
