Why do we bother investigating fire damage vehicles
It is only a car or lorry or bike and it is insured!
We can only tackle the causes of vehicle fires, whether they be caused by a collision, carelessness, design, manufacturing, servicing fault or deliberate ignition if we investigate fires correctly. It is not always possible to find the cause but an investigator can rule out some causes and identify the point of origin. By investigating we can improve vehicle design and education and sometimes bring people to justice where a crime has been committed.
The International Vehicle Fire Investigation course was designed to provide delegates with an experience through presentations and discussions carefully mixed with practical investigations on recently burnt vehicles. Each delegate will investigate at least 4 vehicles and on the third day that includes evidence retrieval and recording.
The course delegate mix includes Police, Fire Service, Motor Manufactures, Insurance Assessors, Vehicle Examiners, etc., from all over the world. The next course is 18th – 20th April 2023 at Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, Ireland with further courses in June and September and the dedicated EV course in Norway in May.
