Our team wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of Max Hendrickson and his girlfriend. We join our colleagues and partners in their tributes to this talented and kind young man: Max was a rising star in our Animation community and it is hard to convey the shock and sadness of hearing about their tragic accident.
Max Hendrickson was an award winning filmmaker and animator from Cabra, Dublin. He began creating short films at just 12 years old and by his late teens, he had produced 10 short films that screened across more than 100 international film festivals, earning over 40 accolades. He won the 2023 Young Filmmaker of the Year award at the Fresh International Film Festival for his acclaimed short animation, The Tell-Tale Heart, a creative retelling of Edgar Allan Poe's classic story. His 2022 film, The Oubliette, was screened in Times Square, as part of the All American High School Film Festival, winning Best Animation.
