Exploring Mizen Head

Mizen Head marks one of Ireland’s most dramatic geographical extremes, the most southwesterly point of the island. Towering cliffs rise boldly from the Atlantic Ocean, their sheer faces looking out across the endless waves below. On a clear day, you may even catch sight of the legendary Fastnet Rock Lighthouse, standing 12 miles offshore.

The nearby villages of Crookhaven, Goleen, and Schull offer equally stunning scenery, where rugged cliffs meet glistening beaches and sweeping sand dunes. Be sure to visit the Mizen Head Signal Station, its museum and visitor centre, along with the iconic high arched footbridge spanning a deep chasm between the cliffs, an unforgettable experience at the very edge of Ireland. ☘️🌊
