On Thursday, 26th February, Gorey Library hosted our exhibition “Ireland – My Second Home.”

The event was organised by Gorey Youth Needs Group in collaboration with Wexford Local Development. For four years now, our services have been supporting the Ukrainian community across North Wexford, and this exhibition was a meaningful reflection of that journey.

It was a very emotional day for all of us. Members of the Irish community shared how impressed they were by the strength and determination of Ukrainians — arriving thousands of kilometres from home and having the courage to open businesses and rebuild their lives. County Councillors were deeply moved by the stories shared by children about how they see their future here in Ireland. Students of Gorey Training Initiative shared they excellent experience joining the Sports and Recreation course.

I truly believe we achieved our goal — we showed that we are not just guests, but part of the community.

GYNG would like to sincerely thank our funders, Child and Family Agency - Tusla, for their trust and continued support. Thanks to this funding, the Ukrainian community has had the opportunity to settle and integrate well.

✨ What an incredible St. Nikolas Day we had this year! ✨

So many families from different communities joined us, and I’m truly delighted that this celebration is becoming a beloved annual tradition in Gorey.

My heartfelt thanks to Gorey Library, which continues to be an essential part of making this event so special every year.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our “From Child to Child” charity initiative and donated new Christmas jumpers for children living in the Kherson region of Ukraine. Your kindness means the world. 💙💛

I am also grateful to our partners Julia Syrotenko from Wexford Local Development for their ongoing collaboration, and to our Councillors - Joe Sullivan, Donal Kenny, Nicky Boland, TD - Malcolm Byrne and Gorey District Manager - Anita McLoughlin who honoured us with their presence.

And of course, a massive thank you to our amazing Gorey Women’s Group team for bringing this celebration to life — it wouldn’t have been so magical without you.

I’m already looking forward to next year’s event and seeing you all again. 🎄💫

Who was St. Nikolas?
St. Nikolas was a kind and generous man known for helping those in need — specially for children . 💖

In his spirit, we would like to collect Christmas jumpers for children affected by the war in Ukraine.
Please note that all donated jumpers should be brand new.

Just Right State
це 6-тижнева програма , яка допомагає батькам навчитися саморегуляції та навичкам регулювати стан своїх дітей через батьківську програму Just Right State. Додатково діти навчаються саморегуляції за допомогою сенсорних активностей та їжі через дитячу програму Just Right State (для дітей віком від 6 до 12 років).

Початок 4 Листопада
Щовівторка протягом 6 тижнів

Сесії проходять окремо для дітей та батьків

💔 With a heavy heart, I would like to begin this month with positive news, but sadly, I must share something sorrowful.

Recently, our Ukrainian community lost one of its dear members – Natalia Voskanova.
This kind and gentle woman was in a terrible accident two months ago and had been bravely fighting for her life in hospital ever since. Sadly, Natalia is no longer with us. 🌹

Her funeral will take place in the coming days. For those who wish to attend the farewell ceremony, please keep an eye out for further updates.
