Limerick Urban Beekeeping Society Establishing viable beehives throughout Limerick city The group will engage with established beekeepers to undertake training and workshops in beekeeping.

Softday in collaboration with the Limerick City Gallery of Art, are working on a new project inspired by their scientific and creative findings during the Amhran na mBeach (Song of the Bees). Working with new participants and data around pollination and bees they have initiated a dialogue with the city of Limerick and its citizens to explore the potential of beekeeping in the city

Softday wish to

establish a co-operative made up of new and interested urban beekeepers in Limerick city. Working with (existing and) new communities of interest, They will establish viable bee hives on the rooftops of municipal buildings, in city parks and private gardens to encourage Limerick city beekeeping and honey production. Softday will also work collaboratively and creatively with the new co-operative to create significant artworks as part of this project.
