Recently, Cork City Fire Brigade welcomed a group of Transition Year students from Ashton School to Cork City Fire Brigade Headquarters.

The students were given a tour of the station by Firefighters Graham, Josh, and Sinead. Who spoke about life in the Fire Service, emergency response, fire safety, and the wide range of roles carried out by Firefighters each day.

The visit gave students an opportunity to see the appliances, equipment, and facilities used by Cork City Fire Brigade. While also learning about teamwork, training, and the importance of community safety.

A big thank you to Ashton School for visiting, and we hope the students enjoyed their time with us ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘

Today we were delighted to welcome young local author Emily Coughlan to Cork City Fire Brigade at Anglesea Street Fire Station ๐Ÿš’

Emily visited the station to present her book Maxโ€™s Emergency Adventures, a childrenโ€™s story series created to highlight the importance of the emergency services and help children understand what to do in emergency situations.

During her visit, Emily met Station Officer Martin Ahern and Green Watch firefighters who gave her a tour of the station and spoke with her about the important work carried out by emergency responders every day.

Emily has recently been featured on Cork's 96FM with Paul Byrne and has received fantastic support for her books from communities and emergency services across Cork.

It was a pleasure to meet Emily and hear about the inspiration behind her writing. We would like to wish her continued success with her growing collection of books ๐Ÿ“š

This week, we say farewell and congratulations to four outstanding members of Cork City Fire Brigade as they retire from the service.

Firefighter John Donovan, Firefighter Finbarr Barrett, Station Officer Jason Roberts and Station Officer Peter Coughlan have each given years of dedicated service to the people of Cork and have been a huge asset to CCFB throughout their careers.

Their professionalism, commitment, experience and friendship have left a lasting mark on the Brigade and on all those who had the privilege to serve alongside them.

On behalf of everyone in Cork City Fire Brigade, we thank them sincerely for their service and wish them and their families every happiness, good health and success in their retirement years ahead.

Enjoy the next chapter โ€” it is richly deserved. ๐Ÿš’

Well done to all members who completed the course and to the instructors who delivered the training.

Last week, our four new recruits, alongside their colleagues from Louth, successfully completed their initial training, culminating in a passing-out parade attended by family, friends, officers, and the Lord Mayor.

The parade featured a display showcasing many of the skills they developed throughout their training. The probationary firefighters will now join their assigned shifts, where they will continue to build on their training and gain the on-call experience required.

Well done to all the officers and firefighters who contributed to the training over the past number of weeks.

Late yesterday evening, Blue Watch and the National Ambulance Service (NAS) responded to a serious incident involving a male walker who sustained significant injuries following a 30-foot fall.
