⚠️🟠 STATUS ORANGE WEATHER WARNING – TUESDAY 09/12/2025 🟠⚠️

Met Éireann has issued an Orange Wind warning for Clare, Limerick, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Cork, Kerry, Waterford & Wexford as Storm Bram approaches.💨🌊

What to Expect:
• 🌧️ Flooding in low-lying coastal areas, especially around high tide
• 🌊 Wave overtopping
• 🚗 Difficult and hazardous travel conditions
• 🪵 Debris & loose objects being blown/shifted
• 🎪 Outdoor events may be impacted or cancelled

🕖 Valid: 10:00 – 18:00 Tuesday, 9th December
📅 Issued: Monday morning, 08/12/2025

💡 Safety Tips:
• Secure bins, garden furniture & loose outdoor items
• Avoid coastal walks/drives during peak winds

Week 1 Challenge update,

After a slow start to the month, We have been stepping it out nicely over the past few days to put a dent in the 500Km,
With one man even clocking up the km's from the Canaries ☀️

LM25 On the move for November,

Manorhamilton Fire Brigade has joined forces to take on the challenge of completing 500KM throughout the month of November with the Goal to raise funds for North West STOP-Suicide Prevention.
They have recently launched a massive fundraiser to come up with matched funding for the redevelopment of the Old Garda Barracks in Drumkeeran, which will become their home.

Any donation is greatly welcome and much appreciated, no matter how big or small.

Storm Amy: Key public messaging;
⚠️Orange warnings; the public are advised in those orange areas, to limit travel to essential journeys and shelter in place as much as possible. Essential services operators will continue to operate subject to advice from Met Éireann on prevailing local conditions.
⚠️If travel is necessary, take additional care when driving and lookout for pedestrians and cyclists
⚠️The forecasted winds have the capacity to bring severe, destructive and damaging gusts, be aware of the dangers of fallen trees and power lines.
⚠️High seas; the public are advised to stay away from coastal areas during this period. The Irish Coast Guard are appealing to people to “Stay Back, Stay High, Stay Dry”.
⚠️There is a potential for wave overtopping and tidal flooding in low-lying, exposed Atlantic coastal areas. In addition to this, the Storm Amy may also bring localised heavy showers, which in turn may lead to localised surface flooding, which may prevail into Saturday.
⚠️The Electricity network may be impacted, the public are advised to prepare for the arrival of the storm including ensuring their mobile phone is fully charged to enable communication.
⚠️Monitor Met Éireann forecasts and/or visit https://bit.ly/3LRaOwG for the most up to date information. Information is also available across the Met Éireann App, social media platforms (Met Éireann) and other news media sources.
⚠️ESB Networks is highlighting the dangers posed by fallen live wires and is advising the public and the emergency services to stay away from these fallen cables and to report such cases to it immediately. ESB Emergency Services can be contacted at 1800 372 999. The public can monitor https://bit.ly/3UjlDxd. In regards to power restoration times.
⚠️Uisce Éireann customers can check the website and social media channels for updates and to get in touch with any issues or concerns via their 24/7 customer care centre at 1800 278 278. ⚠️Met Éireann have issued number of weather warnings for today that impact County Leitrim.
A Status Yellow wind warning comes into affect from 12 noon.
From 2pm, this warning is UPGRADED to a STATUS ORANGE wind warning, which remains in place until 10pm on Friday night.
From 10pm, the Status Yellow wind warning will remain in place until 12 noon on Saturday. A Status Yellow rain warning will conincide with the wind warning for Saturday 4th October until 12 noon.
In addition, a STATUS RED offshore wind warning is in place between 2pm and 8pm.

Near gale force to gale force and very gusty southwest to west winds may lead to the following impacts:
• Fallen trees
• Damage to power lines and possible power outages
• Very difficult travelling conditions
• Debris, loose objects displaced
• Possible wave overtopping

Please exercise caution during this weather event.

Here are a few pics from our recent road traffic collision demonstration which shows a car on its roof and the different methods of extricating a casualty from a car by creating space whether it’s removing a door, a full side removal or tunnelling in from the back of the car with a full roof removal.
