Today marks World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Take some time to pause and reflect on all those lives lost on Irish roads, we also honour the injured and all the families, friends, and communities affected by road traffic collisions.

To date in 2022, a total of 136 people have died and 1,056 have been seriously injured on our roads.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the sudden passing of our friend and colleague, Firefighter Leonard (Lenny) Tierney last night. Lenny joined Cavan County Fire Service in 2018 and served with Ballyjamesduff Brigade. Our thoughts are with Lenny’s family, friends, and colleagues at this difficult time. As part of our initial training, Firefighters are required to complete an intense, two week Breathing Apparatus Course. This course, is then refreshed every two years.
We all have very fond memories of our BA 🥵
