Community Supporting Community ❤️

As we reflect on another hugely successful Vehicle Run, it’s also a chance to look back at how far our group has come.

Since our veichle run last year, our volunteers have responded to 83 emergency callouts across our community and surrounding areas — all while giving their time completely voluntarily.

When Castleconnor Community First Responders - CFR Group was getting off the ground 18 months ago, we received incredible support and guidance from Ballina Community First Responders. Leonard McDonnell, Brian and the entire Ballina team were always there to help, advise and support us, and they also presented our new group with a donation to help us get started. We will always be extremely grateful for that support.

Yesterday, we were delighted to be able to pay that kindness forward by presenting a donation to the new Cabra-Rathlee & Easkey CFR Group as they prepare to go live in the coming weeks.

We wish them every success and want them to know that, just as Ballina were there for us, Castleconnor CFR Group will be there to support them in any way we can.

Community supporting community — that’s what it’s all about. ❤️🚑

What a day!!

Thank you to every single person who came out and supported the Castleconnor CFR Vehicle Run. The tractors, the cars, the bikes, the trucks — and the crowd who turned up to cheer them on. You made it.

Every euro raised goes straight back into the work we do here: equipment, training, and keeping our responders ready to go when the call comes.

To our sponsors — today simply would not have happened without you. Local businesses, farms and clubs backed us again this year, and they did it without hesitation. Please have a look through the video and support them whenever you can. They support us.

And to our volunteers. Dozens of you gave your time freely — marshalling the route, working the kitchen, on the door, and all the bits nobody sees. We could not do any of it without you.

🚜🚗 ONLY 2 DAYS TO GO! – CASTLECONNOR CFR ANNUAL VEHICLE RUN 🚗🚜

There’s lots of work going on behind the scenes as we get ready for our Annual Vehicle Run this Sunday, 16th August, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Castleconnor for what promises to be a great day! ❤️

A huge thank you to all of the local businesses and individuals who have already supported us and donated so generously towards the event. Your support for the Castleconnor Community First Responder Group is hugely appreciated.

Every vehicle that registers on Sunday will automatically be entered into our Entrants' Raffle, with some amazing prizes kindly donated by our sponsors.

We’ll also have a separate raffle on the day, open to everyone, so you don’t need to be taking part in the run to be in with a chance of winning!

❤️ EVERY SECOND COUNTS ❤️

Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time — at home, on a sports field, at work or in our community.

When it happens, early CPR and early access to a defibrillator can make a vital difference.

That’s why the work of Community First Responders and the availability of publicly accessible defibrillators are so important.

Here in Castleconnor, our volunteer CFR Group responds to emergency calls in our wider community and continues to invest in the equipment and defibrillators needed to help us be there when someone needs us most.

🚜🚗 This Sunday, 16th August, our Annual Vehicle Run takes place in aid of Castleconnor CFR.

❤️ Working Together to Make Our Community Safer ❤️

It was a pleasure to gather this evening at the Old Church on Main Street, Enniscrone, to mark the installation of the new public access defibrillator.

This project was made possible through a fantastic community effort.

A sincere thank you to Councillor Joe Queenan for generously funding the defibrillator, Sean Egan Electrical for kindly installing the cabinet, and to everyone who has supported Castleconnor Community First Responders through our fundraising events. The outdoor cabinet was purchased using funds raised during last year's Vehicle Run.

This is another important step in ensuring lifesaving equipment is available when it is needed most. In the event of a cardiac arrest, every second counts. Call 112 or 999, begin CPR immediately, send someone to retrieve the nearest defibrillator and follow its voice instructions.

Our volunteers are proud to support communities across Castleconnor, Enniscrone, Culleens, Bonniconlon, Ballina and we thank everyone who continues to help make projects like this possible.

Best of luck to the Enniscrone Show Committee and everyone involved as preparations continue for this year's show on Sunday 5th July.

The Enniscrone Show is one of the highlights of the local calendar and a fantastic showcase of community spirit.

In a cardiac arrest, CPR chest compressions are the most important action you can take. Start immediately — don’t wait for a defibrillator.

● Check for response

New Public Access Defibrillator Installed – Enniscrone

We’re delighted to share that a new public access defibrillator and cabinet has now been installed on Main Street, Enniscrone.

📍 Location: Old Church, Main Street (beside Queenan’s Checkout)

This vital piece of equipment is now in place thanks to a real community effort:
● Councillor Joe Queenan kindly purchased the defibrillator
● Castleconnor Community First Responders - CFR Group proudly donated the external defibrillator cabinet - The cabinet was funded through the generous support we received during our vehicle run fundraiser last August
● A big thank you to Sean Egan Electrical for installing the cabinet

This is another important step in strengthening emergency response in our community. In a cardiac emergency, early CPR and access to a defibrillator can save lives.

👉 If you’re ever in an emergency, call 999 or 112 immediately, start CPR, and send someone to get the nearest defibrillator.

Welcome to the official page for Castleconnor Community First Responders.

We are a group of trained volunteers who respond to emergency calls in our local area in support of the National Ambulance Service.

When a 999 or 112 call is made, our team can be dispatched to attend life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, providing early CPR and defibrillation while an ambulance is on the way.

Early intervention saves lives, and our goal is to support our community by being there when it matters.

We currently provide coverage across Castleconnor, Enniscrone, Kilglass, Rathlee, Culleens and Bonniconlon, and we work closely with the Ballina Community First Responders group to help ensure strong and consistent emergency response coverage across the wider area.

In an emergency, always call 999 or 112.
