A huge congratulations to our very own Donnchadh Mulcahy on successfully completing the Compartment Fire Behaviour course in Hackettstown Fire Training Centre.🚒
It was a tough and intense week of training involving live fire scenarios, firefighting tactics, fire behaviour and safety drills, all designed to prepare firefighters for some of the most dangerous situations on the fireground.🔥
A great achievement and another valuable course completed as part of Waterford Fire Service. Well done Donnchadh.🚒

Congratulations to David Dowling, William Curley, David White & Fraser Brown on successfully receiving their QQI Award in Breathing Apparatus.
A huge achievement and a testament to the hard work, commitment and training put in by all involved. Breathing Apparatus training is one of the most demanding and important aspects of the fire service, preparing firefighters to operate safely in some of the most challenging environments.
Well done lads from all at Tallow Fire & Rescue. 👏🚒

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we recognise the courage, commitment, and sacrifice shown by firefighters everywhere.
To those who step forward when others step back, your work does not go unnoticed. You are there in people’s toughest moments, protecting lives, homes, and communities with dedication and strength.
We also take time to remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and we stand with the families who continue to carry their memory with pride.
To all firefighters, past and present, thank you for everything you do. Your resilience and selflessness are a credit to the service and an inspiration to many.

Shane Guildea Smashes 24 Hour Challenge in Full fire kit 💪

A huge well done to Sub Officer Shane Guildea on an incredible achievement 👏
Shane successfully completed the 4x4x24 challenge in aid of Down Syndrome Cork running 4 miles (6.4km) every 4 hours for 24 hours, totalling an outstanding 38.4km.
To make it even more impressive, Shane took on the full challenge in full fire kit, showing serious determination, strength, and commitment throughout.
A fantastic effort for a brilliant cause and a great example of the dedication both on and off duty.

Tallow Fire Service would like to sincerely thank Shamrock GAA for the use of their facilities for training.

The support from community groups like this is invaluable. Without it, we simply wouldn’t be able to carry out the level of training required to keep our crew prepared and ready to respond.
It’s a great example of strong community spirit, and it does not go unnoticed.

A great day for Tallow and all the surrounding area. A new state of the art Fire Station will continue to provide 24 hour life saving services 365 days a year. The new station will provide a positive and safe working environment for our firefighters and extra room to train effectively at station. We will be delighted to welcome local schools and groups for station visits when it's complete. This will be beneficial to all.

A big word of thanks to our Sub Station Officer Shane Guildea who has spent the past three weeks helping train the latest group of firefighter recruits during their QQI-accredited Fire Fighter Skills Course at Bandon Fire Station. 🚒🔥
Training new firefighters takes huge commitment, patience and experience, and Shane has played a key role in preparing these recruits for the important work ahead in their stations.
Congratulations as well to all 15 recruits who successfully completed the course. Wishing them every success and a long, safe and rewarding career in the fire service.

Well Deserved Recognition for Martin Sheehan and Lar O'Hara

A Long Service Awards ceremony took place on Friday, March 6th in the Towers Hotel, Waterford, where certificates were presented by the Mayor of Waterford.

Station Officer Martin Sheehan was recognised for 29 years of service, while Firefighter Lar O’Hara was honoured for 25 years of service. Both received Certificates of Long Service in recognition of their dedication and commitment.

Serving their community for 29 and 25 years is a remarkable achievement. Everyone in Tallow Fire Service is proud to serve alongside Martin and Lar, and we thank them both for their years of dedication and service to the community.
