π’ CLΓR 2026 Funding Now Open for Applications
Cork County Council welcomes the launch of the CLΓR 2026 Programme, announced by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. The scheme supports small scale rural infrastructure projects in areas that have experienced significant population decline, promoting sustainable development and encouraging people to live and work in these communities.

Funding Measures Include:
β’ Measure 1: Developing Community Facilities & Amenities
β’ Measure 2: Mobility, Cancer Care, Community First Responders & Meals on Wheels Transport
β’ Measure 3: Our Living Islands
π Cork County Council is now inviting applications from local community groups under Measure 1.
Grants range from β¬5,000 to β¬65,000, with provision for:
β’ Two applications up to β¬100,000, and
β’ Two applications between β¬5,000 and β¬65,000 for Gaeltacht areas.
(Please note: Measures 2 and 3 are administered directly by the Department.)
Last yearβs programme supported a wide range of community projects across Cork County, including upgraded pitch lighting, playground refurbishments, woodland walks, and community centre improvements. The 2026 scheme has also been extended to include Buttevant and Doneraile.
πΆ Funding covers up to 90% of project costs. A 10% cash contribution is required, which may include philanthropic funding.
