Our Business Background

The business was Set up in September 2011 by David Howell and is trading under the name Waterford Landscapes. We are based in Passage east Co Waterford and provide a wide range of Services such as Hedge cutting, Grass cutting, Tree and Shrub Planting, Bark mulch & Gravel, Patios, and Fencing to name a few. All this work is carried out on a Commercial and Domestic scale ac

ross the south east covering counties Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny and south Tipperary. Shortly after Waterford Landscapes started trading in 2011 David has rented land and planted over 1,500 young native Irish trees with the view of growing them on and developing them into healthy 6-10feet trees that will be sold bare root to the public. The first trees were lifted last winter (2014) for sale. In October 2015 we extended our growing market and have potted over 1,000 specimen shrubs that will be ready for sale this spring. Waterford landscapes is managed by David Howell who comes from a horticultural background with both his father and grandfather working in the industry for over 20 years. David got his first job when he was 13 in McGuire’s Garden Centre and worked there until he went to Kildalton College where he studied for 2 years and in 2009 won Kildaton college Horticulturist of the year and was short listed for the RDS Horticulturist of the year. He went on to work in Grangemore plants for 12 months where in this time he was working in the fields digging trees for sale and supervising up to 10 staff members. Unfortunately with the economic downturn he was left go and that’s when he decided to start up Waterford Landscapes. The business has Grown year on year since 2011 as we have built up a solid customer base. David works full time in the business and has one member of full time staff at present which we hope to double by next year.

That’s the 2 home games done and dusted , a look back on where we came from the day we played Kilkenny in the league on March 16th, the pitch got destroyed on what was an awful days weather wise , it took everyday we had after it to get it back right for the 21st of April , we dug up the corner of the pitch to fix a problem that was created during construction work last year it was holding a lot of water there , we spread sand , aerated the pitch ,over seeded 375kg of seed , fertilised it and a couple of liquid feeds ontop of that. Have a look at the photos below to show the sequence of repair work. Thanks to everyone who helped work on the pitch over the last 6 weeks.
