Grisaille study of Isaac Levitan’s Evening at Volga (1888).

This was the very first oil painting I’ve ever completed. Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I’ve picked up painting again!

I started adding layers and working into the painting from Schoolhouse For Art plein air festival at Russborough House & Park when I got home.

I saw so much potential there and couldn’t leave it alone.

More updates coming soon!

Enjoy the process.

While editing a plein air progress video I noticed how loud the birds were on the day. Was so happy my old iPhone picked their songs up.

So here’s a little treat if you need a little calm nature and art ASMR to break up your doomscrolling.

There’s also something about the scratching of rough brushes on canvas that tickles my brain.

Enjoy!

A study of a stork I worked on a few months back.

I loved seeing them in their big nests on top of roofs and voltage poles when I was growing up in Poland.

We were lucky to have been in Bieszczady Mountains during their mating season this summer, where I saw them daily.

I used a glazing technique for the mountains and beak.

I’m particularly happy with the softness of some of the feathers

When the world gets a bit too much, you can find me touching a tree somewhere in the middle of a forest.

Mother Earth knows how to heal.

So in the nicest way possible, go touch some grass.

Love,
Kat
