שמחים ונרגשים לשתף על שתי משלחות נשים מאזור השותפות שזכו לקחת חלק במסעות מעצימים דרך ארגון Momentum.

המסע הראשון כלל קבוצת אימהות מארגון קשת- ארגון הפועל למען אנשים עם מוגבלות ומשפחותיהם בשיקגו יחד עם נשים מאזור השותפות, שגם הן אימהות לילדים מיוחדים.
המסע המרגש הזה הסתיים ביום מיוחד באזור השותפות, שבו נחשפו האימהות לפרויקטים ולארגונים הפועלים באזור ביניהם- ביקור במרכז התעסוקה חושן באבן שמואל, בבית הספר מעבר לקשת בכרמי גת, בדירת שק"ל בקהילה, וכן מפגש חם ומשמעותי עם קבוצת אימהות מיוחדות מקרית גת. היום נחתם בהופעה מרגשת של מקהלת לב קריית גת, המורכבת מאנשים מיוחדים ומוכשרים מאוד.

שבוע לאחר מכן יצא מסע נוסף, ובו לקחו חלק גם כן נשים מאזור השותפות יחד עם נשים מ־JCC שיקגו. גם במסע זה נוצרו חיבורים עמוקים, מפגשים מרתקים ושיחות שפתחו את הלב.

שני המסעות היו מלאים בהשראה, חיבורים בין־אישיים ובעיקר תחושת קהילה אחת גדולה, המחברת בין אזור השותפות לשיקגו ובין נשים שמובילות עשייה משמעותית כל אחת בתחומה.

אנחנו מלאי גאווה על ההזדמנות ליצור עוד גשר של חיבור בין הקהילות ובין נשים מדהימות ופעילות.
מצפים כבר למסעות ולחיבורים הבאים!

We are excited and proud to share about two remarkable women’s deleg*tions from our Partnership Region, who recently took part in meaningful journeys organized by Momentum.

The first journey included a group of mothers from Keshet- an organization in Chicago that supports individuals with disabilities and their families, together with women from our Partnership Region who are mothers of children with Disabilities.
This powerful journey concluded with an inspiring day in our region, where the mothers were introduced to local organizations and initiatives, including a visit to the Hosen Employment Center in Even Shmuel, the "Meever LaKeshet" school in carmi G*t, a community-based Shekel apartment, and a heartfelt meeting with a group of local mothers of children with special needs from Kiryat G*t. The day ended with a moving performance by the Lev Kiryat G*t Choir, composed of extraordinary individuals who filled the room with talent.

A week later, another deleg*tion took off- this time bringing together women from our Partnership Region and women from JCC Chicago. This journey, too, was filled with meaningful encounters, deep conversations, and inspiring connections.

Both journeys were uplifting and full of personal and communal connections, strengthening the sense of one united community bridging the partnership region and Chicago, and celebrating women who lead meaningful change.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue building bridges between our communities and between incredible, dedicated women.

בשבוע שעבר התקיים פורום העמותות הראשון של השותפות לשנת הפעילות 2024-2025. שמחנו לראות נציגים.ות של ארגונים רבים הפועלים באזור ונתמכים על ידי השותפות מגיעים.ות להיפגש, לשמוע ולהכיר ארגונים חדשים וותיקים שמטרתם המשותפת- פעילות עבור תושבי האזור במגוון תחומים רחב. המשתתפים.ות עברו סדנה מרתקת עם יסכה בשיא אופנהיים בנושא מיתוג ובניית זהות ואסטרטגיה שיווקית.
תודה לכל השותפים.ות על עשייה יומיומית חשובה.
נאחל שנה של המשך עשייה, משמעות, ביטחון ותקווה.

Las week we hosted the first NGO forum of the Partnership for the year. We were happy to see representatives of many organizations operating in the region and supported by the Partnership come to meet, hear and get to know new and old organizations whose common goal is the well-being of the residents of the region in a wide variety of fields. The participants had a fascinating workshop with Yescha Basi Oppenheim on branding, identity building and marketing strategy.
Thanks to all the partners for doing important thing in the region every day.
We wish a year of continued work, meaning and hope.

בתחילת ספטמבר הגיעו לקרית גת 6 עמיתות הוראה מארה"ב ומאנגליה של תוכנית MITF - Masa Israel Teaching Fellows
המופעלת על ידי ארגון בינ"ה.
במסגרת התוכנית מתגוררות העמיתות בעיר ומשולבות בבתי הספר, מצוותות למורות לאנגלית ומהוות חלק ממערך האנגלית.
התוכנית אשר נתמכת בחלקה על ידי השותפות הינה חלק משמעותי וחשוב למערכת החינוך בעיר בתחום הוראת האנגלית.
כחלק מהתמיכה בתוכנית, המשתתפות לוקחות חלק בימים עם השותפות ולומדות להכיר את האזור.
ביום ראשון 22.9.24 יצאנו ליום שותפות ראשון. התחלנו בסיור בקרית גת ושמענו על העבר, ההווה והעתיד של העיר. משם המשכנו לבציר ענבים בכרם בלכיש וסיימנו בארוחת צהריים.
שמחנו לפגוש אותן, לפתוח את השנה ומאחלות.ים להן סמסטר של עשייה משמעותית עבורן ועבור ילדי קרית גת.

At the beginning of September, 6 teaching fellows from the USA and England arrived at Kiryat g*t. The fellows arrived as part of MITF - Masa Israel Teaching Fellows program, operated by the Bina organization.
As part of the program, the fellows live in the city and are integrated into the schools, assigned to be English assistant teachers and are part of the English team.
The program, which is partially supported by the partnership, is an important part of the education system in the city in the field of English teaching.
As part of the program's support, the Participants take part in days with the Partnership and get to know the area.
On Sunday 9/22/24, we went on our first Partnership day. We started with a tour of Kiryat G*t and heard about the past, present and future of the city. From there we continued to pick grapes in a vineyard in Lacish and finished with lunch.
We were happy to meet them, to open the year and wish them a semester of meaningful work for them and for the children of Kiryat G*t.

הקיץ עומד להסתיים, אבל הזיכרונות מההרפתקה המטורפת ב-Camp Chi עוד איתנו! ️

ששת החניכים והחניכות שלנו חזרו ארצה מלאי חוויות חדשות ובלתי נשכחות. מרכיבה על סוסים, קבלת שבת מיוחדת ועד יצירת פודקאסטים, הם חוו הכל! ️
החיבור בין החניכים.ות שלנו לבין החניכים.ות האמריקאים.ות במחנה היה מיוחד במינו, ונוצרו קשרים משמעותיים שילוו אותם.ן עוד שנים רבות.
יהב חמו, אחת החניכות, סיכמה את החוויה בצורה מושלמת: "רציתי לומר שנהנתי ברמות שאי אפשר לתאר במילים! אני חושבת שאחד מהרגעים המשמעותים שחוויתי היה בשבתות המיוחדות בהן ביצענו קבלת שבת מפוארת עם שירים וברכות, וההבדלה במוצ״ש וזה ממש מתחבר לקטע האישי המשמעותי שבו קיבלתי מצטיינת כפר הנוער, וקיבלתי למזכרת בשמים של הבדלה שחזרו איתי לארץ. תודה רבה רבה על הזדמנות שקיבלתי מכם לעבור חוויה כזו❤️"

The summer may be coming to an end, but the memories from our amazing adventure at Camp Chi are still with us! ️
Our six campers returned home full of new and unforgettable experiences. From horseback riding, amazing Kabbalat Shabbat to creating podcasts, they experienced it all! ️
The connection between our Israeli campers and the American campers was truly special, and meaningful friendships were formed that will last a lifetime.
Yahav Hemo, one of the campers, summed up the experience perfectly: "I wanted to say that I enjoyed myself on levels that cannot be described in words! I think one of the most significant moments I experienced was on the special Shabbats where we performed a magnificent Kabbalat Shabbat with songs and blessings, and Havdalah on Motzey Shabbat, and it really connects to the personal significant part where I received the Outstanding Youth Village award, and I received as a souvenir Havdalah spices that returned with me to Israel. Thank you very much for the opportunity you gave me to have such an experience ❤️"
We wanted to end with a huge thank you to Robin and David Nankin, our Steering committee members from Chicago for their generous donation who made it possible for the Israeli campers to experience this special summer. Thanks to you, they experienced a summer of growth, new friendships, and lots of fun!

Six campers from our partnership region set off this week for a month-long adventure at JCC Chicago's Camp Chi in Wisconsin! ️

In preparation for their exciting camp experience, the campers participated in an intensive training program where they delved into a variety of topics that will help them make the most of their time at Camp Chi.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to David and Robin Nankin for their generous donation, which made it possible for these six campers to attend the camp. We are confident that they will have an unforgettable experience and make new lifelong friends. ✨

Last Thursday we held a Tu Beshvat seder with the members of our steering committee at Zoom, during our Zoom we presented a sweet and great project!
The partnership through the federation received hundreds of letters from the children and members of the Jewish community of Chicago, which we forwarded to a variety of fighting units in the IDF!

This last Tuesday we had the great honor of dedicating our NGO forum to the Nir Oz community. We started the day with Liat Amar-Aran, head of the Western Negev support unit in JAFI, then we met with the amazing community leaders from Nir Oz who moved to Carmei- G*t two weeks ago. They told us about the Kibbutz, the community, their journey, the rehabilitation process and mostly about how strong and inspiring this community is.
We also heard from Ofer Bavly about what's happening in Chicago and all the amazing support Israel was given through JUF and we heard from Eran Ron, JUF's community coordinator to Nir Oz about the partnership with the Kibbutz.

For Lunch, we got delicious Falafel as our way to take part in the "Operation Dugo" day, showing the world that Am Israel Chai.

Hopefully, once the community is settled in in the city, we'll be able to create and support meaningful relationships between them and our NGO's and to bring them into our Partnership family.

ביום שלישי האחרון היה לנו הכבוד הגדול להקדיש את פורום העמותות שלנו לקהילת ניר עוז. התחלנו את היום עם ליאת עמר-ארן, ראש יחידת תמיכה בנגב המערבי בסוכנות היהודית.
לאחר מכן נפגשנו עם ראשי הקהילה המדהימים מניר עוז שעברו לכרמי-גת לפני שבועיים. הם סיפרו לנו על הקיבוץ, הקהילה, המסע שלהם, תהליך השיקום ובעיקר על כמה הקהילה הזו חזקה ומעוררת השראה.
שמענו מעופר בבלי מפדרציית שיקגו על מה שקורה בשיקגו וכל התמיכה המדהימה שמדינת ישראל קיבלה דרך JUF ושמענו מערן רון, רכז הקהילה של JUF לניר עוז על השותפות עם הקיבוץ.

לארוחת הצהריים בחרנו לציין את יום "מבצע דוגו" באכילת פלאפל, להנצחת המסר של ניצול השואה שעם ישראל חי.

יש לקוות שברגע שהקהילה תתמקם בעיר, נוכל ליצור ולתמוך בקשרים משמעותיים בינם לבין הארגונים הלא ממשלתיים שלנו ולהכניס אותם למשפחת השותפות שלנו.

Starting a week ago in Kiryat G*t, the "Pizzas for Moms" project is warming up hearts.

The initiative, in which pizzas are distributed to families whose spouse has been drafted into reserves, was initiated by a group of amazing women from the Chicago Federation.
Under the guidance of the partnership team and operated in the field by the Kiryat G*t community center team, pizzas have been distributed to over 100 families so far. 70 more families will receive their delivery in the upcoming few days.

The deliveries were also accompanied by personal letters to the families, written with great love by families from the community in Chicago.
It is very moving to see the excitement and gratitude among the families ❤️❤️

A great thank you to all the people involved for such heartwarming initiatives that give our families strength during these challenging times.

פרויקט Pizzas for Moms החל לפני שבוע אצלנו בקרית גת.
היוזמה, בה מחולקות פיצות למשפחות שבן או בת הזוג גויס למילואים, נעשתה ביוזמת קבוצת נשים מדהימות של פדרציית שיקגו. בהכוונת צוות השותפות ובתפעול בשטח של צוות המתנס חולקו עד כה מיום שלישי פיצות לכמעט 100 משפחות, כאשר בהמשך יחולקו לעוד כ-80 משפחות ברחבי העיר.
למכתבים צורפו גם מכתבים אישיים למשפחות אשר נכתבו באהבה רבה על ידי משפחות מהקהילה בשיקגו.
מרגש מאוד לראות את ההתרגשות והכרת התודה בקרב המשפחות ❤️❤️

What a great summer we had at the Partnership!
Right at its beginning, we hosted several Taglit and Onward groups in various activities in the many organizations operating in the region and created significant connections between the program participants from Chicago and the local community in the partnership area. The groups played soccer, danced traditional Ethiopian dances and took part in the active breaks at the schools 💃🏻🕺🏻
This summer also operated in our area (as every year) the Kefiada 🥳
The Kefiada is the English summer camp of the partnership, where about 100 campers took part in the camp, studied, played, danced and sang in English for three wonderful weeks!
Our training team included Israeli and American counsllors who became one big and warm family ❤️

And if you thought our activity was then over, you are wrong!
The community week of Diller that was built from scratch with the fellows from Chicago and the partnership area took place this summer as well. There is no doubt that we have a lot of room to be proud of our wonderful graduates and the community week that they managed! 🤩

What a wonderful summer isn't it? We are already preparing for next year!

איזה קיץ נהדר היה לנו בשותפות!
עם תחילתו, אירחנו מספר קבוצות של תגלית ואונוורד אצלנו בשלל הארגונים הפועלים באזור וייצרנו חיבורים משמעותיים בין משתתפי התוכניות משיקגו לקהילה המקומית באזור השותפות. הקבוצות שיחקו כדורגל, רקדו ריקודים אתיופיים מסורתיים ולקחו חלק בהפסקות הפעילות בבתי הספר 💃🏻🕺🏻
הקיץ גם פעלה באזורנו (כבכל שנה) הכיפיאדה 🥳
הכייפיאדה היא מחנה הקיץ באנגלית של השותפות, במחנה לקחו חלק כ-100 חניכים, שלמדו, שיחקו, רקדו ושרו באנגלית במשך שלושה שבועות מופלאים!
צוות ההדרכה שלנו הכיל מדריכים ישראלים ואמריקאים שהפכו למשפחה אחת חמה ומגובשת ❤️

Welcome to our newest MITF Kiryat G*t group. 💐🌷

Last Wednesday, 23/8/23, group No. 3 of MITF volunteers arrived to the city of Kiryat G*t. The 6 volunteers will work in the city for five months, after which they will switch to teaching in Tel Aviv and new volunteers will come to the partnership. In the next few days, the participants will go through preparations for the upcoming school year and get to know the city of Kiryat G*t and the diverse population that lives here and studies in their classrooms.
Throughout their time here we will introduce our Partnership to them through meaningful activities and assist when needed.

We wish them the best of luck in their important mission.
