We have opened appointments to make Portuguese passports with mobile digital key (CMD)

1)Remember that you can only apply for a passport if you already have a valid citizen card.

2) Currently Portuguese passports are issued with a 5-year validity. No news on the possibility of Portugal start issuing passports with a 10-year validity.

3)Remember: Passports can only be renewed 6 months prior to their expiration date.

4)What documents must I bring for the appointment?
You must present the following documents if you want to apply for a passport:

1. Your valid Portuguese citizen card
2. In case of renewal, you must bring your old passport. Note that the passport can only be renewed six months or less prior to the expiration date.

5) Do I need to be present?
You must be present at the time of the issue, since it is necessary to collect your biometric data. If you are a minor, you must be accompanied by both parents.

6)How to make an appointment for passport?
You should make your appointment through the following link:
https://agendamentos.mne.gov.pt/en/login

You should choose the option "Travel Document" and then "Portuguese Passport”. To book more than one citizen in the same day you should indicate the respective number of "atos iguais".

7) Appointments must be made only with Digital Mobile Key (CMD):
Please check this link to know how to obtain a Digital Mobile Key :
https://www.gov.pt/servicos/ativar-a-chave-movel-digital

For information on how to create and use CMD please consult our website and there are plenty of videos online and support groups on FB.

You can only see and book if you create and use Chave móvel Digital (CMD) with the pins we gave you when you collected your citizen card.

If you are still having dificulties with CMD, try using a cellphone and the app. This site from the portuguese community in Israel might also help:

International Day Victims of Terrorism.

In the ninth International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to Victims of Terrorism, we honour the lives of victims and survivors of terrorism through their memory. Collective remembrance is not only about solidarity and human dignity, but also about healing, supporting recovery and preventing future violence.

The International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism honours the victims and survivors of terrorism while promoting and protecting their human rights and fundamental freedoms.
The 2026 theme “Healing through Memory” recognizes that remembrance is not only about reflecting on the past. By preserving stories, fostering empathy and ensuring recognition of victims and survivors, acts of memory can support long-term healing, strengthen social cohesion and help prevent future violence.
This observance is also a call to action for governments, international organizations, civil society and communities to promote victim-centred approaches that uphold dignity, support recovery and ensure that the voices of victims and survivors continue to be heard.
