One Million Pledge

One Million Pledge One Million Pledge is one of its kind humanitarian initiative to save millions
of lives through a simple 2-minute act of pledging for organ donation.

The One Million Pledge is a brainchild of Dr. Vineet Mishra, Director, Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center, and Institute of Transplantation Sciences. His only goal was to save as many lives as possible after having witnessed countless patients and families suffer due to the lack of organs. He knew the demand could be easily met if we all pledge to donate our organs after we've passed

on. So began the One Million Pledge to get a million people in Gujarat to pledge their organs. And he hopes to take this pledge nationwide.

On the occasion of the World Organ Donation Day on 13th August, 2021 Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Nitinbhai Patel launches the One Million Pledge initiative. This initiative aims to encourage one million people to take a pledge for organ donation so that millions of lives can be saved. Shri Nitinbhai Patel shows his valuable support for this initiative and urges people raise awareness regarding organ donation in the country so that many people can have better lives.

He talks about how the advancement in health system along with Government initiatives have helped citizens suffering from various organ related ailments. He also says that there is much more to be done to help the people of the country. Shri Nitinbhai Patel talks about the important role of hospitals, doctors, media and government in helping people. He shares his insight regarding organ donation awareness initiatives and encourages people to become saviors for their fellow citizens by taking the decision to donate their organs when the time comes.
