Annual Report 2025-26 & Sports Calendar 2026-27 released on National Sports Day
On National Sports Day, the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, Swami Vivekanand Kreeda Evam Yog Sansthan released its Annual Report 2025-26, along with the sports calendar for the year ahead.
The report was released by Dr. Sanjay Sinha, IAS (Retd.), President of the Sansthan, and Sri Ram Pramod Ram, President, Muzaffarpur District Athletics Association, in the presence of Sri Sanjeet Kumar, Treasurer, coaches Chandra Bhushan Kumar and Santosh Kumar, and Joint Secretary Shiva Bharadwaj.
2025-26 was a year of records for Muzaffarpur. The district team finished Overall Runner-Up at the 91st Bihar Junior & Senior Athletics Championship with 46 medals, its highest ever. Over 2,800 athletes from 77 schools competed at the 26th District Inter-School Athletics Championship, where Bihar’s first 4x100m mixed relay was run. The ONGC Presents Muzaffarpur Sports Festival Season 3 brought together 4,000 athletes from 102 schools across eight sports, and was live-telecast for the first time to over three lakh viewers. Beyond the field, the Sansthan distributed 700+ sports kits to government school children, supported four coaches for World Athletics Level 1 certification.
The calendar for 2026-27 has been announced, and the most awaited date is already circled: Muzaffarpur Sports Festival Season 4, 17–20 December 2026, at the Langat Singh College Sports Ground. It will be followed by the National Youth Day and Foundation Day celebration on 12 January, the 17th Abhishek Kundan Memorial Road Race and the 3rd Ajay–Sudesh Memorial Bihar Golden Mile Relay on 31 January, and the 27th District Inter-School Athletics Championship from 29 to 31 March 2027.
