A review meeting on the progress of SBM-G was held today under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Secretary, PHED. The meeting was attended by the Project Director (PD), Baksa; Assistant Project Director (APD), Baksa; Executive Engineer, PHED, Baksa Division; District Project Manager (DPM), ASRLM, Baksa; Technical Officer (TO), SBM-G, PHE, Baksa; and the District Coordinator (IEC), PHE, Baksa Division.

During the meeting, the Chairperson emphasized the need to ensure the functionality and proper maintenance of all SBM-G assets. He stressed that all assets created under SBM-G should remain operational and serve their intended purpose effectively. The progress of ongoing activities was also reviewed, and necessary directions were issued to the concerned officials for timely implementation and monitoring.

Today, on 18/06/2026, Flagoff of Battery operated vehicle for Solid waste management at Darrangamela and hands on training program for vermi compost at Menoka T.E. have been done successfully in convergence with PHE dept, P&RD dept and the empanelled NGO under Tamulpur. The Flagoff was done by PD,DRDA , Tamulpur, Executive Engineer (PHE), Baksa division.
The hands on training was given by Block Technology Manager,SDAO, Tamulpur.
The program was attended by the PHE officials, block officials, NGO and SHG members, VCDC chairman, members and the local audience.
The *Tamulpur Serja Foundation* host the program and they are ready to operationalize the SWM Assets under Tamulpur block in the district of Tamulpur.

A pivotal review meeting was held today at the office of the Executive Engineer (PHE), Baksa Division, Mushalpur, to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission–Grameen (SBM-G) in Baksa district. The meeting was chaired by the Hon'ble Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), BTC.

Following the review, a site visit was conducted to Doomni Tea Estate to observe the successful implementation of the Community Compost Pit (CCP) initiative. Subsequently, a convergence-level review meeting was organized at the premises of the Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) Department with Block officials to deliberate on the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Policy for Solid Waste Management (SWM).

The programme was attended by key officials, including the BDO, Barama Block; Assistant Engineers of Barama, Baksa, Jalah, and Gobardhan Blocks; and other concerned stakeholders.

During the meeting, the Secretary, PHED, BTC, emphasized the importance of widespread dissemination and strict compliance with Solid Waste Management Rules in accordance with the directives of the Hon'ble Court. He urged all officials to take ownership of their respective roles and responsibilities and directed Block authorities to formulate effective strategies for assessing, promoting, and ensuring the functionality and long-term sustainability of SBM-G assets.

The Hon'ble Chief Engineer,(PHE) Sanitation, Assam, embarked on a visit to Baksa District and Tamulpur District today with a goal of ensuring the long-term visibility of Swachh Bharat Mission - Grameen (SBM-G) assets and promoting a pollution-free environment within the districts. The visit was facilitated by a collaborative effort from the Executive Engineer, PHED, Baksa Division; AEE, TC, PHE, Baksa Division; SLWM Specialist, Assam; TO, SBM-G, Assam; TO, SBM-G, IT, Assam; AEE, (PHE) Mushalpur Sub-division; AEE (PHE) Tamulpur, Sub-division; AE, Block office and others.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from TO, SBM-G; JE, PHE; District Coordinators(HRD;ISA; IEC); TO, JJM; BWCs; Contractors; NGOs; PRI Members; SHGs Swajalmitras and others. A joint initiative between the PHED and P&RD departments was undertaken today under Gobardhana block, Baksa District and Tamulpur Block, Tamulpur District.
The visit aimed to foster a collaborative effort towards maintaining a healthy, clean and green environment in Baksa and Tamulpur Districts through proper upkeep of assets provided by the department, ultimately driving positive change and a brighter future for the communities.
