The election was conducted at Hayan, Trehgam, where scores of party delegates from across the constituency assembled to participate in the organisational process. The proceedings were conducted under the supervision of Mohd Rafique Rather, District President Baramulla, who has been designated as the Electoral Officer for the organisational elections in District Kupwara.

He said that the strength of any political organisation lies in its cadre and its ability to remain connected with the people.

“Organisational elections are an important exercise in strengthening internal democracy and giving workers a greater stake in the functioning of the party. Our workers are the backbone of the PDP, and every elected functionary must work with sincerity, humility and a sense of responsibility,” Rather said.

He said that the PDP continues to stand firmly for people’s empowerment, peace, dignity and political stability in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that the party believes in democratic engagement and remains committed to articulating the aspirations and concerns of the people through peaceful and constitutional means.

Rather further said that the PDP remains the only viable political alternative available to the people of Jammu and Kashmir which can combine the concerns of the people with the larger objective of peace and stability in the region.

He urged the newly elected office-bearers to strengthen the party’s grassroots network, maintain regular contact with workers and people, and ensure that genuine public issues are consistently brought to the notice of the appropriate forums.
