Today 21 August 2026, a delegation of Saakshar Bharat Mission Employees Coordination Committee Kashmir comprising Mushtaq Ahmed Sahab from Baramulla, Sajad Ahmad Sahab from Budgam, Riyaz-ul-Haq Shah, Yasmeena Ji from Budgam, Samreena Ji from Kupwara and Maqsooda Ji met the Honourable Advisor to the Chief Minister, Jenab Nasir Aslam Wani Sahab at Nawa-e-Subh, Srinagar.

The meeting was made possible through the special intervention and dedicated efforts of Advocate Neelofar Ji from Baramulla. The delegation discussed in detail the long pending and crucial matter pertaining to SBM and presented a detailed written representation to the Honourable Advisor. After giving a patient and sympathetic hearing to the delegation, the Honourable Advisor assured that the matter will be examined on priority and endorsed the said representation to the State Project Director for immediate necessary action.

Thereafter, the delegation visited Church Lane, Srinagar and raised the issue of other pending grievances related to the department and requested for their early redressal. Subsequently, the delegation visited the office of the State Project Director and held a long and detailed discussion regarding the report and today's representation endorsed by the Honourable Advisor. Later, the delegation also visited the Civil Secretariat and met Under Secretary Deepika Sharma Ma'am in connection with further follow-up of the matter at the administrative level.

The Coordination Committee Kashmir extends its heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Advocate Neelofar Ji, Baramulla for her unwavering support, valuable guidance and for coordinating and leading today's important programme successfully. Her commitment and dedication towards the cause of the SBM employees community is deeply appreciable and commendable.

We wish to inform all members of the *Saakshar Bharat Mission that today, the dedicated members of the Saakshar Bharat Mission Coordination Committee, namely Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Sahab from Baramulla, Mr. Mohammed Aslam sahab, Samreena Ji from Kupwara, and Maqsooda Ji from Anantnag, visited the Civil Secretariat*. During this visit, they held detailed discussions and meetings with several concerned officials regarding the welfare, pending issues, and future course of action for all SBM employees across the Union Territory.

The purpose of this visit was to formally present the genuine concerns of our employees and to seek positive intervention from the administration so that matters related to our service and livelihood can be resolved at the earliest. The officials have assured that the issues raised will be given due consideration and necessary steps will be taken in this regard.

For any further information, updates, or clarifications related to the outcome of these meetings, all members are requested to kindly get in touch with their concerned District Representatives. We also appeal to everyone to remain coordinated, united, and patient during this period. Our collective strength and unity will play a very important role in achieving the goals we are working towards.

Along with this, an important advisory is being issued in the general interest of all SBM members. Today, on behalf of Saakshar Bharat Mission Employees Jammu & Kashmir, we met Hon’ble Education Minister Sakeena Itoo Ji and submitted our deputation regarding the genuine issues and demands of SBM employees.

Hon’ble Minister Sakeena Itoo Ji listened to our concerns very patiently and assured us that our issue will be taken up and resolved at the earliest.

Khansahib Budgam j&k , 17 August 2026: SBM (Sakshar Bharat Mission) employees today held a peaceful protest at Khansahib, demanding the release of their pending salary/honorarium for nearly three years and a suitable regularisation/employment policy.

The protesters highlighted their years of dedicated service and urged the Government to intervene immediately and resolve their long-pending grievances.

The employees said they will continue their peaceful and democratic struggle until their genuine demands are addressed.

This is to inform you that today on 14th August 2026, a delegation of Saakshar Bharat Mission Coordination Committee Kashmir consisting of Aijaz Ahmad Butt, Riyaz ul Haq Shah and Maqsooda Ji visited the SPD Office Samagra Shiksha to know the present status of the report which was sought by the Under Secretary to School Education Department. The delegation met the State Project Director Samagra Shiksha in his office chamber and discussed in detail the matter regarding the said report.
After that the delegation also visited Civil Secretariat Srinagar and met the Commissioner Secretary School Education, Special Secretary School Education and many other officials in the clerical hall.

Today, a dedicated delegation of Saakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) employees from various districts of Kashmir had the privilege of meeting *the Hon’ble Education Minister, Sakeena Masood Itoo Ji*, in her office chamber at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar. The delegation comprised respected members including *Bashir Ahmad Shb, Gulshana Ji, Umar Shb, and Ishrat Ji from Pulwama; Aijaz Ahmad Shb from Budgam; and Mushtaq Shb, Zaffer Ullaha Shb, and Neelofar Ji from Baramulla*.
During the meeting, the team thoroughly discussed all critical issues concerning SBM employees across Jammu & Kashmir. Matters related to service conditions, pending demands, welfare measures, and the overall functioning of the mission were raised in detail and presented with clarity and sincerity. The Hon’ble Minister patiently heard every concern and assured that the genuine issues of the employees would be examined with due seriousness.
We express our deep gratitude to all individuals, well-wishers, and supporters whose tireless efforts and encouragement made this important interaction possible. Special thanks are due to the SBM delegation members who took the initiative to raise these long-pending matters at the appropriate level—something the entire community of SBM employees had been eagerly awaiting.

A significant meeting was convened at Tangmarg, Baramulla, where a delegation of dedicated Saakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) employees from Baramulla district had the opportunity to interact with the Hon’ble Education Minister, Sakeena Itoo Masood Ji. The delegation was led by respected senior member Mushtaq Sahab Baramulla and included prominent representatives such as Zafferulla Sahab, Javaid Sahab, Showket Sahab, Shabir Sahab, and Zahoor Sahab.
The primary objective of the meeting was to highlight the long-pending service-related issues, administrative uncertainties, and genuine hardships being faced by the Saakshar Bharat Mission employees who have rendered sincere and uninterrupted service for several years. The delegation presented a comprehensive written representation detailing various concerns, including lack of clarity on their future status, service regularization, remuneration issues, and other welfare matters. Each point was explained with supporting facts and real-life examples to underscore the difficulties being faced by the employees and their families.
Hon’ble Minister Sakeena Itoo Masood Ji listened to the delegation with utmost patience, empathy, and keen attention. She acknowledged the legitimacy of the concerns raised and expressed her sympathetic understanding of the situation. In a prompt and positive gesture, she immediately instructed her Private Secretary to forward the submitted representation to the Commissioner Secretary, School Education Department, directing expeditious and favourable action on the matter.
The delegation expressed profound gratitude for the Minister’s respectful hearing and swift intervention. This encouraging development has infused new hope and optimism among all Saakshar Bharat Mission employees across Jandk. The employees are deeply thankful to the entire delegation for their tireless efforts, excellent coordination, and strong advocacy on behalf of the entire workforce.
We also pray to Almighty Allah to bless the families of the delegation members who have selflessly worked for the cause of SBM employees. It is well known that many SBM sisters have faced personal crises including divorce and domestic violence, while a large number of employees continue to struggle with severe financial hardships. The collective efforts of the delegation have strengthened our faith that these genuine issues will soon find a just and satisfactory resolution.

**Urgent Update & Appeal to All Saakshar Bharat Mission Employees*

Respected Brothers and Sisters,

Today once again our senior representatives Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat Sahib and Mr. Riyaz Ul Haq Shah Sahib visited the SPD Samagra office in Srinagar. The main objective of this visit was to get an update on the letter we mentioned yesterday and to know its present status. After meeting the concerned officials, we came to know that the letter has been duly received by SPD Samagra office. The office has confirmed that after proper examination, comments will be prepared and sent to the higher authorities for further necessary action. This is a positive development and shows that our matter is moving forward at the official level.

At this stage we are highly thankful to Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Qadri Sahib for his great contribution and continuous efforts for the welfare of all Saakshar Bharat employees. His support, guidance, and coordination have always kept our team united. We recognize that the progress we have made till now is largely due to the dedication of senior members like him who have worked tirelessly for our cause.

Now, this is the most crucial phase of our struggle. Our issue has reached a point where every step matters and every employee’s support is needed. I sincerely request all SBM employees in general to stand together, put our hands in hands, and support each other with full strength. This is the time to stay united and avoid any kind of confusion or division. We must keep ourselves continuously vigilant and keep track of every update related to this process. Please rely only on authentic information shared by our coordination team and do not pay attention to rumors.

I also request our respected colleagues from all districts to come forward at this critical juncture.
