🐦 Meet the Magnificent Cassowary!
During my recent visit to Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar, I had the opportunity to learn about one of the world's most fascinating flightless birds—the Cassowary.
Native to the rainforests of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and northeastern Australia, the cassowary is instantly recognizable by its striking blue neck, helmet-like casque, and powerful legs. Despite its majestic appearance, it plays a vital role in forest ecosystems by dispersing seeds and helping maintain biodiversity.
📌 Did you know?
The cassowary is often called the world's most dangerous bird due to its powerful legs and sharp claws. However, it usually avoids humans unless it feels threatened.
A visit to Nandankanan Zoological Park is not just about seeing animals—it's about understanding wildlife, conservation, and the importance of protecting our natural heritage.
