From Learning to Doing: Experiential Learning in Agriculture!
What happens when students step beyond the classroom and into the real world of agriculture?
They learn by doing, build skills through experience, and prepare to become future agri-entrepreneurs.
ICAR’s Experiential Learning Programme (ELP), initiated in 2006–07, is a major component of Student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojna).
Today, the programme spans 624 Experiential Learning Programmes across 73 Agricultural Universities—creating opportunities for students to gain practical exposure across diverse agricultural and allied disciplines.
The programme covers 10 major areas, including agriculture, biotechnology, community science, agricultural engineering, dairy technology, fisheries, food technology, forestry, horticulture and veterinary sciences.
From growing crops to handling produce, from technology to entrepreneurship—ELP turns knowledge into experience.
