The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswas Sarma today ceremonially launched the Chief Minister’s Jiban Prerana Scheme, providing financial assistance and career support to fresh graduates.
The initiative offers Rs. 2500/- per month for one year along with guidance in job search, competitive exams preparation and self employment.
The live streaming of the ceremonial launch programme was also telecast at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Commissioner, Chirang, in the presence of Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, District Commissioner, Chirang, Assistant Commissioners, Chirang along with other dignitaries, officials and students.
Under the Chief Minister’s Jiban Prerana Scheme, a total of 861 students from Chirang District will benefit from the scheme. The initiative is expected to provide valuable support to the beneficiaries and contribute towards their educational and future development.

The cheque distribution programme under the Axom Darshan/Upasana Thali Scheme was ceremonially inaugurated by the Hon’ble MLA of 19 Sidli Chirang (ST) LAC, Shri Pani Ram Brahma, on 25 August 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Commissioner, Chirang, Kajalgaon.

In the presence of Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, District Commissioner, Chirang, the Additional District Commissioner and other dignitaries, financial assistance of ₹1.50 lakh each is being provided to 583 religious institutions/Upasana Thalis across the district—285 in Sidli Chirang LAC and 298 in Bijni LAC.

The scheme seeks to support religious institutions in strengthening their infrastructure and activities while contributing to the preservation of the district’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Representatives of religious institutions/Upasana Thalis, district administration officials and other distinguished guests attended the programme.

Gram Sabha | Vibration Village Programme

A Gram Sabha was held today, 19 August 2026, at No. 1 Aie Puali LP School, Dadgiri, under the Vibration Village Programme, providing a platform for direct interaction between the administration and the local community.

Shri Gakul Chandra Brahma, ACS, District Commissioner, Chirang, along with Shri Paniram Brahma Hon'ble MLA, 19 Sidli Chirang LAC, ADC Kabita Deka, SSB officials and Heads of Departments, attended the programme.

The District Administration heard the concerns and priorities raised by the people, particularly regarding health, education, drinking water, electricity, roads and other essential public services. The issues raised were noted for necessary follow-up and appropriate action by the concerned departments.

The programme reaffirmed the commitment towards people-centric governance, responsive administration and inclusive development at the grassroots level through the vibrant village programme.

MoU Signing Ceremony | TB Nikshay Mitra Initiative

Under the CER initiative of IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery, an MoU was signed between the District Administration, Chirang and IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery for providing financial support towards the adoption of TB patients under the ‘TB Nikshay Mitra’ Initiative in Chirang district.

A meaningful step towards a TB-free Chirang through collective commitment, compassion and community participation. 🇮🇳
