“Road Safety Saves Lives, Follow Rules Today for a Safer Tomorrow.”
Budgam, May 22, 2026: Under the leadership, guidance, chairmanship, and supervision of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arun Palli, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (Patron-in-Chief, J&K Legal Services Authority), and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority Budgam in coordination with respective TLSCs and in collaboration with concerned departments, conducts awareness/activities as per the mandate of Legal Services Authority.
The closing ceremony of the Road Safety Awareness Week was today organized by the District Legal Services Authority Budgam in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Magam at Lucent International School Magam. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Budgam and under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Budgam, Ms. Tabassum Parray, and under the chairmanship of Chairperson TLSC Magam, Ms. Rabyia Snober Gulzar.
The event was graced by Secretary DLSA Budgam, Ms. Tabassum Parray, and Chairperson TLSC Magam, Ms. Rabyia Snober Gulzar. Officials from Traffic Police, Police Department, PLVs, teachers, students, and members of civil society also participated in the programme.
During the programme, speakers highlighted the importance of road safety measures, responsible driving, use of helmets and seat belts, and strict adherence to traffic rules for prevention of road accidents. Students of various institutions presented awareness skits, speeches, and Nukad Natak performances focusing on traffic rules, safe driving practices, and protection of human life.
A series of awareness activities, rallies, and programmes were conducted during the Road Safety Awareness Week from 18th May to 23rd May across different institutions of Magam. The participants appreciated the efforts of DLSA Budgam and TLSC Magam for spreading awareness among the general public, especially youth and students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a pledge by participants to follow traffic rules and promote road safety awareness in society.
