World Wetlands Day 2026🌱🍃
Theme: Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge – Celebrating Cultural Heritage

Wetlands are more than landscapes of water and reeds — they are living classrooms of wisdom passed down through generations. From fishing traditions and flood-resilient farming to sacred ponds and community-managed lakes, traditional knowledge has long guided people in living in harmony with wetlands.

Today, as climate change and biodiversity loss threaten these vital ecosystems, these age-old practices remind us that conservation is not new — it is deeply rooted in culture, respect, and coexistence.

On this , let us celebrate the communities who protect wetlands through their customs, stories, and sustainable ways of life — and renew our commitment to safeguard these lifelines of nature and culture.

💙 Protect Wetlands.
🌾 Honour Traditional Knowledge.
🌏 Preserve Our Cultural Heritage.

🐘 Elephant Corridors: Pathways for Giants 🌿

As part of the National Wildlife Week (2nd–8th October 2025) celebrations, the WWF EIACP PC-RP team designed an informative infographic showcasing the significance of Elephant Corridors in India.

The poster maps 150 identified corridors across 15 elephant-range states, illustrating their vital role in maintaining habitat connectivity for the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus). 🌏

It also highlights the major threats to these corridors — including habitat loss, encroachment, and linear infrastructure development — and underscores the need for collaborative conservation efforts.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of safe wildlife passages and the collective role of communities and stakeholders in ensuring the long-term survival of elephants in India. 💚🐘

🐅 Tiger Reserves: Guardians of the Wild 🌿

As part of the National Wildlife Week (2nd–8th October 2025) celebrations, the WWF EIACP PC-RP team prepared an engaging infographic titled “Tiger Reserves: Guardians of the Wild.”

The poster highlights the importance of tiger conservation in India, featuring a detailed map of 58 designated Tiger Reserves across the country, showcasing their spatial distribution, ecological significance, and contribution to biodiversity conservation. 🌏✨

It also presents key facts on tiger population, major tiger corridors, and the critical role these reserves play in maintaining genetic connectivity and ensuring the long-term survival of this majestic species.

This initiative celebrates India’s success under Project Tiger, inspiring collective action and shared responsibility to protect our wildlife and natural heritage. 🐾
