Delhi Police’s swift action after Muskan Sharma’s murder stops Jihadi Imran before he can strike again

What happened:
Muskan Sharma, 21, of Old Mahavir Nagar, Tilak Nagar, was stabbed to death at home on Wednesday evening (26 August). Her father died about 15 years ago. Her mother raised four children alone.

Muskan had known Imran, a former gym trainer, for about a year. She later saw his intent and his drug use and tried to end the relationship. He refused to accept “no.” After she stopped meeting him, he came to her house with a knife, strangled her, and stabbed her repeatedly. She died after being taken to hospital.

What Delhi Police did:
Police moved immediately. Imran was tracked, including through CCTV, and confronted in Rajouri Garden. He opened fire; police returned fire. He was hit in both legs, arrested, and hospitalised. He has a prior 2021 case of assault and culpable homicide.

Sources: he had been involved with another girl and had tried to kill her as well. His capture after Muskan’s murder stopped that threat from going further.

The pattern is Love Jihad:

This is possession and control that turned into murder. A man who will not accept rejection, uses drugs, stalks after a breakup, and arrives with a knife has already chosen violence. When the woman walks away, he tries to destroy her.
