Youth Empowerment through Agriculture – YEA Project!! As team Global Peace Chain Uganda Chapter, we are pleased to announce the trend of achievements of the YEA Project as we break through the Western Uganda Region. With the help of our Ass. Country Director Ms. Amanjot Kaur, Global Peace Chain Uganda Chapter is currently encouraging and planting Okra as food crop. We are great ful to the partnership of Uganda Red Cross Society( Mbarara Branch) with whom the team launched and planted okra seeds. Special thanks to Preet Foundation for giving us resources for starting up this project. THE YOUTH EMPOEREMENT THRU AGRICULTURE - (YEA) PROJECT! As part of our livelihood restoration approach, Global Peace Chain Uganda Chapter today officially launches the YEA project. Under this project, Global Peace Chain Uganda Chapter shall supply famers with high quality and well researched Okra seedlings at half the market price for planting. GPC Uganda shall also endeavor to provide market by ensuring the purchase of these okra fruits at a standard market price and implement a value addition to have more products from okra. As a pilot start, GPC Uganda is piloting this project In West Nile.
