Here are some of the initiatives and innovations by different labs at IIIT-Delhi to ensure laboratory-based experimental learning during COVID-19. The Smart Automatic #HandSanitizer developed by ECE Labs at the institute which avoids the excessive waste of sanitizer also garnered appreciation from the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

As IIIT-Delhi turns 13 years old, let us acknowledge the strong research culture of our institute and the efforts of our faculty and lab management for providing remote access of all resources to the students to support the research work.

ECE Lab is organizing a hardware design challenge "Electrivire'21" for its students. The event would be conducted in two different stages to be held on 13th September 2021 and 18th September 2021, subsequently.

Please find the event details below:

What: Electrivire'21
Stage I: This is an online event where all of you will solve an MCQ-based quiz.

Stage II: The design statement will be introduced here for hardware implementation.

Why: There are plenty of prizes having worth of over 7000/- for the top 3 winners. We have a few consolation prizes also. The e-certificate will be provided to all the registered participants.

When: Stage I on 13th Sept and Stage II on 18th Sept 2021.

Registration: Contact at [email protected]. Open to IIIT-Delhi students only. The registration is free.

The latest generation of Zynq® UltraScale+™ RFSoCs, with integrated radio frequency analog to digital converters (RF-ADCs) and radio frequency digital to analog converters (RF-DACs), provide previously unattainable power and performance benefits (as well as streamlined design and development processes) in wired, wireless, narrowband, and long-range IoT applications.

Direct RF sampling moves the conversion process closer to the antenna, enabling more flexible and programmable signal processing in the digital domain.

This webinar will:
Review the challenges posed by traditional RF conversion techniques
Introduce the principles and benefits of direct RF sampling
Illustrate the key steps to implementing solutions using the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC platform

The Department of the ECE organized a workshop "Vehicular Communications on Enhanced Road Safety" last weekend. This workshop was technically supported by the IEEE Communication Society - Delhi Chapter and was sponsored by "SPARC project, Ministry of HRD, Govt of India" and Tektronix." The speakers of the workshop were invited specialists and thought leaders from academia and industry. A certificate of participation was also given to all the 40 participants.

Congratulations Setu Gupta (B.Tech. 1st Year) and Daksh Thapar (B. Tech. 1st Year) for winning a cash prize of INR 2000/- in our technical event ELECTRIVIRE'18.
To summarize, we had over 100 participants in Stage-I who were shortlisted to 15 teams of 2 or 3 members each, to participate in Stage-II (Hardware Design Competition).In addition there were few open booth demonstrations and technical talks conducted by the industry experts.

Hey!! Here is another high end instrument of ECE Labs "LPKF ProtoMat S103 circuit board plotter" for producing PCB prototypes and small batches is configured specifically for RF and microwave requirements. The touchless, pneumatic depth limiter further allows delicate surfaces, soft and flexible substrates to be processed. The ProtoMat S103 also carefully depanels irregular shaped flexible circuit boards from larger boards.This is currently placed in RF and Electromagnetic lab.
