Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar researchers have sequenced the whole genome of Pseudidiomarina woesi sp. nov. (strain W11ᵀ), a newly discovered salt-tolerant bacterium isolated from the Andaman Sea.

This remarkable marine microbe thrives across wide temperature, pH, and salt ranges, showing resilience in extreme environments. Its unique biochemical traits and cell features make it a fascinating addition to our understanding of marine microbial diversity.

Genome sequencing of this novel species helps unlock insights into the adaptations that support life in ocean ecosystems.
