Today, 30 September 2026, we pay our profound tribute to the legendary leader, freedom fighter, and social activist, Jana Neta Hijam Irabot, on his birth anniversary.
Affectionately remembered as Lamyanba (The Pioneer), his life serves as a timeless guiding light for justice, unity, and collective empowerment.
📣📣 Let us remember and reaffirm our commitment to the core ideologies he lived and fought for:
🔺 Preservation of Identity & Culture: A fierce champion of the Meetei identity, language, culture, and traditional martial arts.

Ending India's 28-year medal drought in weightlifting at the Asian Games, her journey is a true testament to the grit, hard work, and unbreakable spirit of the people of Manipur.From battling severe injuries to standing proud on the podium, she embodies absolute resilience and stands as an inspiring symbol of women's empowerment.

Statement of Condemnation and Call to Action

NINGOLS UNITED PROGRESSIVE INITIATIVE (NUPI) strongly condemns the brutal, senseless killing of the talented musician Chongtham Vikram. We stand in absolute solidarity with his grieving family and the entire Northeast community during this time of profound tragedy.This horrific act is a stark reminder of the persistent vulnerability and racial targeting that people from the Northeast region face. We demand immediate, unwavering justice.
Our Core Demands:
1) Fast-Track Justice: The government must ensure the immediate arrest and the strictest punishment of the perpetrators under the law.
2) Institutional Protection: We urge the authorities to implement stringent measures to protect Northeast citizens from racially motivated violence and hate crimes across the country.
3) Zero Tolerance for Hate: A comprehensive investigation must be launched to address the systemic safety lapses that allow such hate-fueled attacks to occur.
Violence and discrimination have no place in our society. We call upon everyone to raise their voices against this injustice and demand a safer environment for all.

NUPI - Delhi attended the 50th Annual gathering and Fresher's Meet organized by MASAD. During the event, NUPI members extended their blessings to the newly appointed executive team and wished the students great success in their future endeavors.

A Day of Remembrance • A Tribute to Sacrifice

We remember not with sorrow alone, but with profound pride and reverence.

Today, we honour the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of the four brave student leaders:
1) Nongmeikakpam Promodini.
2) Oinam Nabakumar
3) Laishram Chaobal.
4) Waikhom Nilamani—who laid down their lives on August 27, 1965, while protesting against artificial food scarcity in Manipur.

Their legacy continues to inspire generations to stand firm for the rights and future of the region.Their legacy lives on in our hearts.

NINGOLS UNITED PROGRESSIVE INITIATIVE (NUPI) – DELHI OBSERVES 135TH PATRIOTS’ DAY AT
NEW DELHI, AUGUST 13, 2026 —

The Ningols United Progressive Initiative (NUPI) – Delhi observed the 135th Patriots’ Day today at the, New Delhi, to honor the heroes of the 1891 Anglo-Manipuri War. The solemn event brought together members of the Manipuri diaspora, student leaders, and prominent citizens to pay tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by Bir Tikendrajit, Thangal General, and other freedom fighters.The commemoration commenced with a floral tribute to the portraits of the martyrs, followed by a minute of silence.
